Just introducing myself. Browsed here forever, but just now joining as there are some members I'd like to contact, etc. I'm a business man and author living in Colorado right now. Not new to DSMs by any means.

Short version of the list:

While in VA...
91 TSI built to about 300 AWHP...was my first.
92 NT Auto...great for commuting to college in the late 90s. Clean, custom, and great on gas.
94 1.8 - bought it almost as a joke, but made a pretty neat project out of it.
At one point, I owned all three of those at the same time.

Moved on...

2003 Red Evo 8. First in VA. Mitsu even got me permission to drive my car through the mall and into the movie theatre for the opening of F&F2. Well...I thought it was cool at the time. And hell, they gave me free parts too. Eventually, she was sitting on 450ish to the wheels and spent some time in autox at NASA Langley Speedway and other 'tracks'.

Moved to CO:

Bought and built a gorgeous 2004 350z. Made her quick and fun, but she was too much of a garage queen...never in rain or snow and wouldn't have worked well in the white stuff anyway.

2008 White Mitsu Evo X MR - Never got too much done aside from bolt-ons, rims, tint, etc. My wife looks better in it than me anyway. Just not loving the four door myself.

Still have the EVO, a nice Dodge Ram with a few goodies, and a black subie we like to rally in random out of the way places!

Onto now. Wife gave me 'eventual' permission for a 13 Nissan GTR. That will probably come home sometime in summer of 14 when I can find a low miles used one that someone couldn't afford...or beat up on...or both. Guess we'll see.

In the meantime, wanted to grab a 2G. Always wanted one, never got into one.

Picked up a 98 GSX in pretty rough shape. Some guy put it back together to resell it, but I wasn't too worried as I figured I'd be redoing most of it anyway.

Project forthcoming in build thread:

White 98 Mitsu GSX:
* Runs good
* Stops
* Starts
* Doesn't tick
* Doesn't smell
* Doesn't smoke...well, except for when the coolant line to the oil cooler sprung a leak on me and relieved itself all over everything.

What I've done:

* Cleaned her up some.
* Steamed/Removed crap tint job - purple, bubbling, you get the picture.
* Replaced Rotors and Pads all around
* New Rims and tires ready in the garage...pics to come.
* Injen intake pipe, Buschur/K&N intake kit
* New Ignition overhaul
* Royal Purple FTW
* Upper Strut Tower Bar (Front)
* Perrin MBC, Autometer Boost Gauge
* Few other goodies under the hood.
* Replaced door panels
* Fixed a bunch of issues (passenger locking mech, driver's window, driver's door hinges replaced, etc. etc.)
* Stripped all molding and glass
* New Stock Code White paint/clean/wet sand/polish after plenty of body work, new OEM bumper, and much much more.
* New moldings around, new windshield.
* Removed antenna motor, replaced with static antenna
* Fresh wiper arms, treated wiper cowl
* New tint to 20% - I have a doctor's note...no, really.
* Greddy 24 FMIC, w/upper and lower hard pipes (polished) and Greddy BOV
* Modestly set at 13 psi while I work on things and change things...in no hurry to be in a hurry.
* Polished OEM headlights...love the new kits out for this...worked great.
Hmmmm...think that's it. Was able to accomplish all this in one month. Mostly body and paint time.

Coming quite soon:

*Suspension - this thing rides like a toothless hooker while ICE-T narrates...rough and disgusting. So....lots going underneath.
* BR 3 inch turbo back...actually today just realized they aren't selling anymore than the 3inch high flow cat for the 2G, so will be looking elsewhere for exhaust.
* Evo XI Seats
* Finish Interior
* Basic stereo and speaker replace; nothing at all fancy (sounds horrible now)

Then...within let's say 3-4 months as time permits:

*Pull engine and rebuild from scratch...never done this before and will need some assistance. Literally want to do the whole thing with all custom parts...no stock silliness for this one. 6 bolt most likely with the works. Would love to do (some learning necessary) literally everything with my tools in my garage.

No grand aspirations this time...and not racing anymore, well not with this car. Will be looking forward to about 350-400awhp when done. Everything clean, engine bay clean and painted, everything tucked, battery relocated, etc. etc. Love the ideas I've seen here and will borrow them and ask questions frequently.

Long post...Sorry.
