I am picking up my first DSM saturday. It's kinda a big difference for me, as my first car was a Foxbody Mustang (Bolt On's, never raced) & my second was a 06 LS2 GTO (Cam/Intake/Bolt Ons/11.91@117). A friend of mine lost interest in his project so I decided to pick it up off of him.

The car is a 1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX, The body & Int are pretty clean, clear coat is a tiny bit faded.

Car is AWD, Manual. Has
A 16G
ARP Headstuds
Greddy Boost Controller
Greddy Turbo Timer
Pillar Pod W/ AFR & Boost
Greddy Exhaust
SAFC2 Program
Coilovers all around
Megan Racing Strut Bars (F&R)
Evo 8 Injectors
New Battery
New Alternator
New Timing Belt
New Tires
New Brakes
New Axles.

The Car has 2 minor issues. a.) it has a cold start issue. I'm figuring this is either a Coolant Temp Sensor (thinks the coolant is ice cold & dumping too much fuel upon start up) or the fact that the car is on a bigger injector with no tune yet. b.) The car has a break up. I'm figuring the first thing I can try is colder plugs with less gap.

Any Advice on these two issues?

Also, what can I expect to run at the track (1/4) with this setup?

Thanks guys, look forward to hearing from ya. :thumb:

The cold start issue could be a mix between a couple things. Be it the no tune on the Evo 8 injectors and/or the coolant temp sensor. However being that the car has an SAFC I would hope that its already got some kind of "tune". Try looking up some things about your SAFC maybe there is a couple settings that are out of whack.. Or try a new coolant sensor. As far as what you run at the track? Hard to say, could be a 12, could be no faster than a 14. Driver mod plays a good role in things like that. Welcome to tuners!

Thanks guys, scooped up the car and a few things..

First off, I'm a dummy. Car is a 93 Eagle Talon TSI, I saw it a few years ago before my friend told me he was selling it & was under the impression it was a GSX for some reason, but whatever.

Anywho, Cold start issues definitely there, when the car finally idles the temp gauge never moves (I let the car sit and run for like 10 minutes before coming to this conclusion) so I'm thinking the coolant temp sensor is definitely the problem there. The O2 sensor wires are cut however because it hit the alternator and shorted out the old alternator (hence the new alternator) so the car probably has no id wtf is going on LOL. It's running retarded rich.

The car doesn't like to find idle when you drive it/rev it.

As for the breakup issue, the plugs are definitely fouled as shit from how rich the car is running so I'm gonna try a colder plug with less gap and hope it works.
