the engine is not the orignal engine but another 4g63t but it has 2nd gen pistons and first gen rods. all fresh never ran. planning on doing a balance shaft eliminator kit asap.

the head is stock but im lookin to do some mild cam/ valve upgrades.

curently the 14b thats on the car is TRASHED shaft play out the ass.. im on the hunt for a big 16g.

has a act 2600 6 puck street clutc and a act 12 lb flywheel..

also has a 3 inch catback exhaust and high flow aftermarket cat..

other than these few things its all stock.

im here to learn how to improve my dsm and meet a few people along the way.. i see theres alot of knowledge here. and i cant wait to get started putting this thing back together.. oh also how can i make this thing run tens LOL JK JK.. :sneaky::rolleyes:

This was my friend carls roommates car. That block/pistons/rods/crank used to be mine. You bought it from Troy Michigan right?

Good luck with your project. Awesome car.

welcome, first upgrade is make sure you have a daily driver. Second maintenance before upgrades timing belt should be on the top of the list.good luck with it.This site is great just make sure you read the rules, they in force them. look around this site for the best deals, people on hear part cars out left and right. Is this your first dsm, if so welcome too hellLOL

yes i bought it from troy michigan... can you tell me more about the motor? is it never ran like he said?

did i buy a junker? the guy said he didnt know much about dsms.

id like to know anything and everything you know about the car.
thanks

and yes this is my first dsm.. i drove my buddys 92 awd. and i fell in love..

Welcome, I'm also fairly new to this sit, but have owned 3 different tsi awd since 98 and wanted one ever since I drove in my buddies also.

Like previously said make you do basic maintenance things before modding. Change all the fluids and timing belt if it hasnt been changed yet. Maybe do a compression test if you're worried about the condition of the motor. definitely test for boost leaks. If you're getting a big 16g you're going to want bigger injectors, walbro, afpr, a good mbc, and at least a safcII to take advantage of it.

Welcome chuck! Nice to see another DSMer in the state.

Do you have an upgraded fuel system that will handle the big 16g? Also, did the car come with an engine magagement system like ECULink? Might be necessary to run the big 16g -- maybe a 1G pro knows better.

These are addictive and a ton of fun...

Good call YOOOO, beat me to it

well like everyone else said maintance maintance maintance or it will be hell so check the car over the tranny and t case and since its awd the rear diff for play and such....welcome aboard a trip to hell and back chuck LOL jk jk.but anyways if u git a 16g u dont have to quote have to git bigger injectors fuel pump so on so forth it depends on boost and my short block is built the same as urs only my pistons are coated and im running a 20g on 20lbs daily with a 225 wally,550cc injectors and a safc and my car is completely fine tuned just how i want it ang everything.....im sure someone will blast me with ## a dumbass or something cause of only having a safc and running 20lbs and bigger injectors but whatever just read the step by step modding list we have......and most of all have fun and get pissed LOL:rocks:

i wasnt really planning on running 20 lbs i wanted to get a 16g and run a solid 15 lbs of boost for a daily driver.. i was also planning on getting a electronic boost guage/boost controller.

buti gotta worry about getting this thing together first..
