Hey everyone. Sunday I picked up my first DSM: a 93 Eagle Talon. This car has a 1.8 SOHC motor and 5sp tranny out of an eclipse and has a few leftover things from the previous owner that will be dealt with in time. Out of the 8 cars I have had, this is my first DSM and my first non-toyota to be exact. This Talon is a half-way car for me because I have two other projects going on at the same time. I have a 91 Toyota MR2 that I have been working on for some time now that is waiting on a BEAMS 3SGE motor swap. And I have an 85 Toyota Corolla AE86 waiting for a 20v Silvertop 4AGE swap with bolt-ons. This AE86 is nowhere near the quality of the MR2, but will follow in a short time.
Oddly enough, this is the only car I have that runs, so I am going to do the best I can to keep this car on the road at least until one of my other projects are back on the road. While I am not planning on spending any more money on this car than I have to, I may down the road decide to keep it and clean it up a little. Hence why I am here. At the moment, this Talon runs well, is 5sp, was cheap, is great on gas, and has plenty of (hatchback) room for me to haul me and my crap around. The only "mods" I plan to make to this car is to replace the cut rear springs with non-cut springs, and to piece together an audio system from stuff I already have. Unless I sell the HUGE C West wing, it will stay on the car. Why? I laugh every time I see the car and the attention th car gets from it is priceless. You have to understand, this car(mainly the way it looks right now) is not my style, so I am going to have some fun with how it looks!
