name's nick, from canton, ohio.

just traded my 87 mustang for a 95 talon awd 5 speed.... new to imports in general and especially boost. i'll try to use the search as much as possible so i don't ask answered questions.... the car is supposed to have (and i say supposed to because some of this stuff i couldn't tell from stock) 16g turbo, rc550 injectors, 3 in from the turbo back, crower 272's as well, socketed and chipped, afc1, coil over plugs, 6 bolt.... turbo timer & methanol inj kit....

came with not installed a aeromotive fpr, different turbo said it was a 70 trim... looks huge, and a wideband not sure of the brand name.... said the tune was from dsmchips in florida i think....

Welcome, glad to see someone step from the v8 to a turbo 4. U guys are so lucky u live in a state with a couple dsm shops such as Bushcur and Shep. I'm green with envy. Good luck.

Kentucky isn't too far away. Don't forget Shearer Fab. Best Manifolds on earth come from that guy! Oh yeah and Bill Lowe at Showdown motorsports in Toledo. His laser runs low 8's!

True, It is when you're at the KY?TN line. I was thinking Bill was in MI for some reason, Showdown is hella good too. I got a screensaver of his 92 pulling the front tires.OMG I couldn't believe a AWD pulling the front tires.WTF

I am blessed with having the best of both worlds. And being one of the "FEW" older members who enjoy the DSMs where many of my generation turn their noses up and ignore DSM's or any imports for that matter.

One of my 1st cars when I was 17(1972) was 1969 Dodge Coronet Super Bee 383 Cubic Inch 4 barrel 4 speed. Abused the snot out it, put 5 motors in it over the course of time I owned it, all of which I blame only myself for. Anyhow back in the day these "Musclecars" ran stock right around the mid 15's at about 94mph. 3800lbs and 335hp. Only a few ran in the 12's other than factory race cars. They did not stop well, most having drum brakes, at high speed. And handling other than going in a straight line was pretty much dismal at best! Fuel mileage was fair unless you owned a 440 or Hemi. Fuel quality and prices were very fair, especially Sun0c0 260!

Today the DSM, the turbo charged ones run just as quick and faster bone stock! True they are smaller. Stop very well, and very capable in the handling department. Fuel mileage is outstanding comparitively. AWD traction is incredible.

Both generations of cars can be "Built" to run impressive numbers.

Both generations of cars are relatively rare compared to the bread and butter transportation brethern. Ex: RS vs GSX. Plymouth Satellite vs Road Runner / GTX.

I have just as much fun if not more with my TSi AWD as I do with my old school Musclecars. ( I have a 69 Road Runner, since 1978 and a 93 Mustang GT Convertible )

In my mind and opinion all the factory Turbocharged Mitsu's qualify as Musclecars 100%
