Buddy of mine and I were playing online last night and we were noticing some problems. Dunno if anyone would know of any solutions though. 1st, we can't get any sorta traction control in 2 player mode. It really sucks too cause the cars handle totally different between 2 player and gran turismo mode. Even in one player mode on arcade you can have traction control. But can't get it for 2 player. This is a REAL disappointment to me if I can't even play 2 player and drive the car like I'd want without being all over the place. Was driving 30 mph last night with the formula car last night on the Nurburging (spelling?) and hit the grass and lost total control. I didn't buy the game to be having to play the computer all the time. I bought it and I've worked at getting all these cars to play others with.

The next problem we noticed was that even though we had the same exact cars with the same exact tires, that his car (player 2) would have the tires wear out before mine. I dunno if it's only on the track we were on or not (Seattle) but we tried swapping controllers incase one controller was causing the gas to be WOT all the time. Didn't help. He even tried driving easy on his while I just smoked the heck outta my tires and his still wore out before mine. I even tried being in 1st place or 2nd place incase the position you were in made a difference. Tried everything we could think of aside from swapping tracks and it did the same thing. Only solution I had was to just turn the tire wear off but that's no fun :( May as well turn off the damage while I'm at it

Last problem we noticed, we went on the test course. Had the same exact car. Player 2 would get to the top speed and then come down some, as if it was bouncing off the rev limiter. My car stayed constant at the top speed. If he tried to drift behind me, no change and couldn't catch up to me. If I tried to drift behind him I'd just fly around him.

Any solutions? You'd think that after they made 1,2, and 3 that they'd have all the bugs worked out by now but at the moment I'm losing interest in the game :(

This sounds like you have some sore of handicap option turned on.

Nah, that's off. Well, the only handicap I've seen on the game is where you have one car start off a certain distance ahead of the other. Also, another thing I noticed. In options, I'd go to arcade and the traction control settings would be turned off. I'd turn it on just for the heck of it and see what it'd do in 2 player. Wouldn't work of course. Go back into options and it'd be turned off again WTF Turn it on and use it on one player and it'd work for 1 player. But everytime I'd go into options it'd be turned off

You have the handicap on. Its in the settings under arcade mode I think.

Handicap isn't on. Still, there's other problems as well such as not having any traction in 2 player mode, etc. etc.

You sure your picking "race" mode, and not "drift"?

As long as you keep your traction control on in simulation mode in the settings menu of the car you want, and make sure its turned up, and save it, it should stay that way in 2player mode.

don't worry about the traction control! Its more fun without it. The fastest laps I have run in that game have been with the formula or a jaguar hanging the tail out a tiny bit(drive it like a shifter kart) its great fun. Its also seriously hard. I'm sure you can turn it on in two player mode, because I hate having it on and get pissed when its turned on. ROFL

Thanks, I'll check it when I have the time. Been kinda busy lately.

I kinda have to because if you even get up to around 50 mph or so it's very difficult to control or you just spin out all together.

I think your tire wear problem is do to your driving style.

My driving style? Don't think so....

He even tried driving easy on his while I just smoked the heck outta my tires and his still wore out before mine.

Also forgot to mention that we had even tried it on the circle track.

You are doing something wrong, all those settings are available in 2 player mode.

And yes, driving style DOES have an effect on tire wear. We have an online GT4 league (LAN party, 6 PS2s, 20 guys, race for points, etc), and we have had races where everyone uses the same car, same tires and there are some of us that can make a car go an extra lap or two before pitting compared to others that play with us.
