How do you people know all this stuff about your suspension setup? I started playing GT3 when I got into cars, and all the suspension stuff alwasyconfused me. In this one does it tell you what your doing, like turning it down does this, turning it up does this...or what? I don't understand what half of the things you guys are posting in the "setup" thread meen.

could someone enlighten me, or does it show up on the game?

EVO MR

I need help all it wants to do is push when it should turn, its only got 490hp on soft non-race tiers I got the YAW and the full race suspension.

HELP!

:dsm:

Well all I has to say is that camber and race tires are the trick to it all camber is such a great thing wit the MR :thumb:

:dsm:

what kinda camber adjustments are you running? with my MR as soon as i got the R4 race tires, whenever i come into a corner or get off the throttle the car gets all jittery and bouncy...it'll hold the turns, its just a bit discomforting......

I made a thread about car set ups and the first one I wrote up on is the MR. Traction control must be turned off. I bought a fully adjustable diff for it this weekend. I have a car that rotates beautifully on turn in and carries a nice no steering needed slide all the way out.

the people that made this game knew that not everyone would know how to tune the suspension, so they tried to help you out by giving you a short description of what everything does if changed at the bottom of the screen. read that and it might help some, it did for me :thumb:

I really dont know much about tuning the suspension, so I just threw the spring on maximum KG capacity (15) and the dampers all the way up on my evo mr, its stiff as a bi*** now.

What's a good setup for the full customizable suspension on a FF car?

look in the thread for car set ups. I posted in there a set up for an SRT4. Each car is different but that should give you a basic idea

Negative is toe in

see thats another thing that pisses me off in gt4, liek in gt3 they had a picture of a car and it showed what negative and positive was via illustration. Here its just a damned setting.

From what I hear, positive toe is toe out in the game (opposite of real life), and softening the front spring rates compared to the back will help reduce understeer.

Well the stiffer you make your rears the easier for the rears to break loose = oversteer...

I always with each car make the front say 13/15 and the rear 12/15

and the rates 9/10 all around

AYC at 100/130 and VCD 35% with the EVO MR

Some more tuning last night with the MR. With a soft suspension up front, the great has GREAT initial turn in, but horrible, horrible understeer on acceleration. The front end picks up to easy on it now. I'm thinking a soft front with stiff rear and not too low of a ride height will help this car even more. Playing with the toe also helped out too

I would have thought that negative toe is toe out, just like in real life, because it explains that a greater negative rear toe decreases straight-line stability, whereas a positive rear toe increases straight line stability. This is true in real life too.

I cant get teh m3 csl to hold on to the road for shit at the nurburgring , if i attempt to go over 140, it just bouces up and down, and I end up hittin a wall, no matter what I try to do with that damned suspension.
