Well, It's time to see who thinks it's cheating, and who doesn't.

Personally, I wouldn't really consider it cheating. IT does, however, take out a lot of the fun that comes with the game. If you don't have to go from teh botton of the food chain, up to the top, where is the fun?

So No it's not cheating, but I choose not to do it.

no it isn't cheating. i busted my ass for 3-4 years on GT3 so a little compensation isn't bad. i like it because i can have a FF, FR, AWD/4WD, and MR that way i can run in each class :thumb: you don't really get to many mods with a bunch of cars

Ya really with the way car and mods prices are the 100k helps a little in the beginning but it's not like using the gameshark and get 1,000,000,000 or whatever.

I took it so I could get started racing right away. I will still go back and do the license tests.

I still can't believe I haven't gone to get this game yet, but with the talon breaking down and money being really tight I just can't cough up the coin to do it yet. Maybe I'll go trade in a bunch of my games towards this one.

At the price/credit all the major retailers are giving for used games lately in my area, you will probably need 15 games to trade in on GT4.

i wouldnt consider it cheating but i think it'd ruin the fun. part of the game is building up cars for each type of races and earning each upgrade.

GT4 just seems too easy period. I'm just playing for the drifting

if it wasnt allowed in the game then it would be considered cheating. I even do the $265,000 race over and over again to make money and buy cars that I need to win races with.

So glitching isn't cheating? I'd bet most people would argue that with you.

But it isnt a glitch. THey had to have known about it. They let us clear the races in all the events and re-win the prize cars. Nothing that big could have gotten past them unless thats the way they wanted it to be :thumb:

That 100,000cr is not cheating, using a gameshark is cheating. I like to think of it as compensation for a.) having to work your ass off at GT3, and b.) having them keep pushing the release date around for GT4. ;)

I know, its not cheating, but i still am not going to it.

I was just saying, just because its in the game doens't meen its not cheating. Also, just because they allow it doesn't meen its not cheating.

For example, in Halo 2, online, Bunjie is allowing people to do flag glitches and grab/pass them through walls. This is only because its hard to regulate and find people doing it. I still consider it cheating.

Josh, once again (though concerning a differnet topic), you have to realize that what you define as "x" might not mean "x" to the next person.

;)

I like the arguing both sides for yourself, though. You could have this thread rolling with no participation from others due to contradictions alone.

Yea, I can see both sides. But still if you want it, use it. But I'll earn my money. (Yes, I know, you earned it in GT3  :p )

I didn't earn it in GT3... I used gameshark for it... mawhahahahha :p

I'm a cheater! yeah! You can sell that rally car for 265k? wow I know how im getting 1 million dollars tonight!

^^^why is that cheating. i remember on GT2 you could do one of the races and get the Shelby Cobra and sell that for 100k if i remember. thats how i went from sucking with the superbird to kicking ass with the 3000gt and escudo.

In GT2 I just took a high HP car and ran it in GT all stars test track race. Won an HKS drag car and sold it for 250k :thumb:

I didn't really know any money loops with GT3 :thumbdown. I was a poor drifter in GT3.. :p

I did the HKS drag car 3 or 4 times in GT2 also, as I've done the toyota rally car (235k is it?) twice now... had to buy myself a RUF for Boxster spirit :p

Clearing wins and racing for prize cars is not cheating. It says specifically "If you want to win the prize car again, you must clear the race". They made it so people could do that exact thing.

I'm only 12.2% done, but I won the Option Z and took it to the special condition races and ran all the paved rallies. You win some cool cars and some nice rally cars you can sell off for $150-$250k.

not cheating
because in gt3 if you sold a car that you could only win, and you want it again later you were screwed, so i like the new feature. and besides figure that it takes almost 220k to totally build a car, so your still putting in the time, and thats just 1 out of 700+ cars thats a lot of green backs. so no its not cheating. :p

Someone fill me in on how to get an extra $100,000???

Did it say something at the very start of the game? I just skipped reading all of those little info boxes at the start of the game, I just wanted to play it. Which I regret because you can use the licence's from the GT3 which I found out after I beat them all in GT4.

Fill me in here.

I don't feel it's cheating at all. I busted my butt on GT3. Without doing so I wouldn't have been able to buy my ZR-1 & supercharge it right off the bat.

Another good moral question...is running in B-spec cheating? I'm doing it right now in the Vette races because one of the tracks is Laguna Seca. I can never race on that horrid track so considering I slugged through all the other tracks (not to mention the beyond stupid license tests) I feel like the computer owes me something. ;)
