Just a quick question, did some searching but couldn't find the answer. It seems the bolt thread/size for the oil return line to the oil pan is M6x1.00x16. I assume the bolts for the return line to turbo are the same thread, but is it a different length? Also, should there be crush washers for the oil return to turbo fitting? If so are they the same size as the oil pan (6mm)?Thanks!

The oil return on the turbo and on the oil pan has the same thread size.

M6x1.0.

20mm long at the pan (MF101229), 16mm long at the turbo (MF241225).

the oil return on standard MHI turbos do not use a crush washer, there should be 2 gaskets used, one between the return line and turbo and one between the return line and oil pan. MHI turbos use crush washers on the oil feed from the head (both at the head and at the turbo) and coolant return line at the turbo.

18mm length should work for both of them

Awesome, I saw those threads but didn't see where it specified 20mm. From what I understand though you are supposed to use crush washers. Are they also 6mm on the turbo side? Doesn't say anywhere in the thread.

On the turbo side, the original bolts come assembled with washers -- i.e., you can't buy the washers separately -- which is why no one ever talks about them. FWIW, I am using hardware store crush washers and bolts at the turbo as well as the pan and have no leaks from the return line.

The washers will be the size of the bolt shank, 6mm or M6. A 1/4" will work okay, too, just depends on what you can find.
