Snap Ring pops out of the turbo after rebuild

I managed to get the EVO3 16G rebuilt myself, but whenever I put the snap ring back in, it pops out later when I put it back on the car, without even driving it. The pressure that the lines and various things put on the housing causes the snap ring to pop out when I try to put it on the car to drive it.

Any good tips on getting it in there better? I'm using large 90 degree pliers that have been ground to fit in the snap ring holes.

Flip the ring over so the beveled side faces out and it won't do this anymore. The way you're installing it the ring can't possibly fit into the groove.

and make sure the groove on the ring is lined up with the circle on the compressor housing

I just wasn't getting it pushed down/in enough. Finally figured it out.
