What turbo was this?

What kinda turbo was this before I blew it up? The comp housing has TD04 on it. I dont know where the piece of that fin is.

Most likely a 13g from an automatic 1g car.

A TD04 turbo with all the same size fins like a 14B? I have no idea, but it was too small for sure.

....and anything you can't find is probably in your intercooler.

Forgot to mention this was off my twin turbo stealth. I was told they were stock turbos (9b), but when I bought a stock replacement 9b, I noticed the fins were different. The 9b fins sit flat instead of having the curved outside edge.

It is a 9b, you see the exducers (the curved outside edge) because that turbo ate itself against the housing.

If this is true....ouch.

I only ran this turbo for less than a week (150 miles or so) since it started making turbo squeal.

Lesson learned and first turbo blown. Gotta put this ona shelf haha

big question is WHY were you running this dinky turbo on a dsm? Buy a 14b or 16g

Its the rear off my stealth. Never was on my dsm.

I got a big 16g on a 1g dsm hiding in the back of my yard right now. snapped timing belt so its gonna need a new head. no time to fix the damn thing.

Ok, just odd you're posting this on dsmtuners and not 3si.org

Next time, check for shaft play or buy a new manufactured turbo from a reputable company that warranty's their products.

I posted there too just tried to get a solid answer. Both forums are knowledgable of turbos, but dsm seem to use a wider variety.
