Ok I got a FP3575 JOURNAL bearing turbo that seems to have blown after only 5 miles. My Question is what is the center section?(Garrett etc.) Also what are the measurements of the turbine wheel? Im needing this info because if FP wont warrantee it or wants to much I need to find a different turbo that will fit the housing.

The center section is Garrett and I believe a 3575 - gt37 turbine in an FP .70 9cm housing

Do you have any idea what made it fail? Typically, they don't just fail, you might want to find a reason, or face blowing another turbo!

FP3575 Turbine wheel:

In- 2.795" =71mm
Ex- 2.437" = 62mm

No clue why. I have good oilpressure and I used the FP oil feed and return lines with the inline filter. I just checked the filter and there was nothing in it.

Did you prime the oil system prior to startup? Where are you measuring your oil pressure?

Ok I pulled everything apart yesterday and found no oil after letting it Idle for a good 30 min and the thing smoking to beat all hell. Put it back together today and I have zero traces of smoke under boost, idle, or decel? Im confused now and happy that its not smoking but concerned as to why and how it fixed itself.

I changed nothing. Only thing I can think is that maby one of the rings was sticking on the shaft from sitting for over a year turbo not installed.

sounds like the turbo drain may have been kinked.
