20G that needs exhaust housing. 7cm or 8cm?

I have a small 20G (TD05H) that needs an exhaust housing.

I have a bullseye 8cm housing that will bolt on. I also have a 7cm fully ported with 34mm gate that came off my small 16G. I have not verified if the small 16g housing will fit.

Will the small 16g exhaust housing fit?

If they indeed both do bolt onto the small 20g, then which housing do I want to use and why?

What are the benefits of each housing?

Should the 8cm be ported?

Thanks

Yes the small 16g housing will fit, I would go with the 7cm housing quicker spool and great topend, 20g is already a laggy turbo a 8cm housing will cause more lag but you get more topend

If the smaller housing fits, use it for the street. If and when you go the track, swap out the bigger housing for more top end, redline driving.

I rarely drive the car on the street. Maybe 2000 miles per year. The majority of the time when I drive this car on the street it is when I am going to the track.

How much more topend do you think it will actually gain? In terms of MPH.

Do you think the quicker spool with offset the top end? Or the greater top end will make up for the slower spool? I guess I am asking which will get me the faster time in the 1/4mi.

Well considering you have a TD05H wheel, then I would use the TD05H turbine housing. It was built for that housing specifically.

Pros/Cons.

TD05H Housing.
Quicker spool, more back pressure on the top end.

8cm Housing
Slower spool, better top end.

It's really up to you.

The BEP housing has a td05h footprint too .

The BEP housing has a tangental entrance with a centered volute. MHI as a tangental entrance with an offset volute. The BEP housing is not designed for the td05h wheel specifically, but the centered volute is what MHI should have done considering what the centered volute provides. The arguement to use a turbine housing designed for the wheel is based on results where swapping to a larger turbine housing and having to run a better exhaust manifold showed better results. The bep housing as about .55 a/r, while the 7cm^2 housing is about .49 a/r. The difference will be slight; not like going from a .48 a/r garrett to a .63 a/r garrett.
