Is anyone using the hy35 or is the hx35 just that much better? All I hear about is the hx35. You would think that since the hy35 already comes with a downpipe it would be easier to use, or am I completely wrong.Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

If you have a t3 manifold that will fit it with adequate clearance. It won't make quite as much power as a HX35 due to the smaller turbine wheel.
You also don't have the option of different housings because of the vband mount for the hotside to center section rather than bolts.
An external gate or a different internal gate actuator would be required because the one that comes with the turbo has a very high spring pressure.

I know the hx35 is bigger than the hy35 but dont they roughly make the same amount of power? Does anyone know what they flow, and cant you just have a mbc to control boost, instead of getting a new wastegate actuator?

The HY won't make quite as much power, but it won't be too far off. A MBC can never lower the boost below what the wastegate actuator spring is set for they can only raise it. The problem is most of the holset actuators are set near 30psi.

That looks good. Are you going to be able to run puller fans or do you have to switch to a pusher style?

I've only seen 1 map of an h2c and and one map of an h2e. Apparently, there's only one map of the h1e, as well. This goes along with the h1e having no upgrade compressor wheel (I'm not saying that an hx40 6 or 7 blade won't work, just that holset doesn't do it).
The h2c flows close to the same as the hx35 and the h2e flows close to the same as the hx40 6-blade. I would not be suprised if the h2c has the same compressor as the h1c but different turbines:

I wonder what advantage there is to the H1/H2 chassis? Or are they simply 1st gen Hx35/40 turbos..... of sorts? Or is there some other advantage to them, like larger shafts/bushings to run higher pressure ratios or something?

I do not know. It would DEFINATELY be interesting if they did have stronger internals.
My take on it. . . They could have very larger turbine wheels too. Holsets are found on boat motors too. I've seen several with the h2c and h2e. A diesel fishing boat motor runs at the same rpms very often. So spool isn't an issue really. It's not like fishermen are in a hurry. Good flow up top would help for a motor that is run at a certain relatively high rpm (for the motor). So the housings or the TURBINE WHEELS could be much larger than what most of us would want to run even at the track. If it's just the housings then that's great, we can swap. But the h1c has many housing sizes and the same nomenclature by Holset signifying it.
I'm not writing it off. I don't have a flippin' clue . But, if they ARE usable, then Holset would have a wider range of turbos useful to gas motors than MHI, considering all the varients within the h1c, hx40, and hx50 turbos. The hx35 seams to have 2 or 3 different compressor wheels all flowing apparently about the same.
. . . I'm about half way on my "RE"-build. I have the body ready and the rebuild parts and polished crank:
