finally ordering the rest of my accessories for the new turbo and i am curious what size injectors you guys think i should get tuning with DSMlink. i initially was going to get 1000cc but was told by someone that they'd be way to big, and 680-750cc would be just about right. any input would be great.
thanks

Go big, from what I've seen link shouldn't have a problem with 1000's, but somebody who actually runs link could tell you for sure. Whatever you do don't go with just enough injector or you'll regret it later when you have to buy injectors again. :notgood:

thats exactly what i thought too, dont want to have the IDC's way too high and still have a lot of turbo left also

YEs, get 1000's.. I went to 550's and an SAFC first, then had to buy injectors again to go to 720 and now that i'm running ethanol i'm having to buy the set of 1000's that are in my car at teh moment :( too much money when i could have got 1000's to start with and been fine... YOu will have really low pulsewidths at idle (mine are around .944 ms).

meaning it will idle rough? the guy i plan on tuning it for me told me 780's being the biggest to go with, i just cant see getting alot out of the turbo with that. :toobad:

My car has no problems at all with Dsmlink and 1000cc injectors. With Dsmlink I wouldn't get anything smaller than 1000's no matter what turbo you are running.

heres another good question, would getting a maft soon change your perspectives how big of an injector, or no?

I don't understand the question. I have a maft on my car with the Dsmlink but I don't use it for anything other than to run the gm maf.

meaning im going blowthrough also before i get it tuned. maybe im thinking like a jacka$$ but would running that with huge injectors make any difference?

If you are going blow-through and Dsmlink at the same time it doesn't matter what injectors since you are going to be using Dsmlink to control them.

I have 1000cc RC injectors with only a chip and a afc and this is on a 1.6liter with no problems. you should be fine.

Like most other people stated go big upgrade once. I have 1000ccs on mine with link and it idles like stock. Plenty of room to upgrade in the future if you decide to ever go bigger with your turbo.

I have been running 1000's for a couple years now. They idle great once global and dead time are dialed in, and have TONS of breathing room for larger setups. I went from a E3 16g to a 35R HTA and didn't need to swap.

1000cc here on link.. It's time to go bigger though...

Get 1050's. 1000 aren't really 1000's. Read at ffwdconnection.com. They show you why.

I'm running DSMlink, MAF-T in blowthru, and 1150's and it idles fine a 750rpm. I would say go with 1150's as they're the largest you can get without going to 1600's which are hit or miss with tuning. Plus, there isn't much of a cost difference to upgrade to the 1150's.

Yep, 1050's here's. I think you get the idea by now but yes go big so you don't have to upgrade again in the future, DSMLink can handle them & the driveability will be just like the stockers. I went 750's when I ran an evoIII thinking they would be plenty big for future upgrade's, ended up running them for 3 years & have now swapped to 1050's.

You can get if you want 1750cc injectors and be able to dial them in and make the car driveable. The only question is: Do you really need them? NO. This is today's fashion: get huge injectors?!?!
You don't need to max out injectors, but injectors need to be run hard/75-85% IDC/. That is one. Second: What limits the injector is a MINIMUM CLOSED TIME. Depends where your redline is, let say it is 7K, so that/ MIN. CLOSED TIME/ is roughly 0.8Miliseconds and ON time is 3.2 miliseconds that is around 92-93% IDC and up to this point you are relatively safe. Anyway, it is your call.

well thanks alot guys for the input. i will go with my first choice and go 1000cc or 1050... i appreciate it! :thumb:
