I am trying to pick out a turbo for the engine I will be dropping in my 92 AWD talon this summer. I want the car to be streetable with occasional track visits. The mods are:

6 bolt bottom end
Eagle Rods
Wiseco pistons 8.3:1 - .5mm over
ARP Main and head studs
Mitsu MLS head gasket
Mitsu bearings
BS removed
All new timing components and oil pump
Ported and polished head
Ferrea 1mm oversized valves
BC Spring and Retainer kit
FP2 Cams
Stock Cam Gears

I want the turbo to be water cooled, internally gated and bolt to a mitsu manifold. I was thinking an FP Green, but for the same money I could get a BB PTE 50 trim (SCM5031R) and get a little bit better spool up. Also, the FP 20g has some decent numbers, and would probably spool faster than the Green. What do you think?

DGajre777, any particular reason you chose the SCM5031R?

It is a dual ball bearing turbo instead of journal bearing like the other 2 on your list. With the FP2s, I'd go with the 0.63 turbine A/R instead of the 0.48 A/R.

There's numbers out there for the fp 20g? Iv never seen em.
Why internal? Why not just go external, better boost control.

Why not step a bit bigger than a 5031? To a 6031 or something. They are the same price (extremepsi)

I vote 5031R, but I am willing to bet the 20G would last longer in terms of durability. ( have no facts to back this up, just hearsay)

Prostreet, can you PM the price of a 5031R package? (Turbo, internal wastegate, and anything else I might need)

Jake, if you order from extremepsi their prices are right there. Just add the total of the turbo plus the install kid (149) plus 8 dollars for handling. they have free shipping for all their products. So again
Turbo + $149 for the install kit + 8 handling fee = ??
:)
Personally I would go after a green, much proven number
