Evo 8 16g cartridge in Evo 3 housings?

My buddy has the hot and cold side of a evo3 16g. He also has an evo 8 16g and was wondering if he could use the cartridge from the evo 8 turbo inside the evo 3 housings?

The Evo turbo is a reverse rotation turbo, it won't work in a conventional turbine housing.

Thats what I thought but we just wanted to make sure. Is there anyway we could get this center section to work on lets say a starion. Thats what he was going to try and run it on.
