I bought a fmic off a member here. The pipe that came with it is just absolute junk. has homemade rivets as a "bead" for the pipe to not blow off, and the bov flange is jb welded and leaks severly. HERE is the dilemma.
Should I buy just new pipe as the core is very nice. OR
This 95 96 97 98 99 MITSUBISHI ECLIPSE GST GSX TURBO LARGE INTERCOOLER WITH PIPING KIT
a whole new setup with nice pipe, t clamps and free shipping to save me the hassel?
any and all input is welcome

its a 2g setup

What intercooler are you running right now?

That intercooler looks to be one of those super-cheap eBay tube/fin specials; it's not even as durable as the eBay bar/plate intercoolers.

I feel buying this intercooler would probably be a step backward to the intercooler you now own. You'd be better off finding a universal piping kit and making a lower pipe. You can easily use a pair of ChanneLock pliers to slightly roll the outer edge of each pipe in order to keep the couplers from blowing off.

I agree with the above statement just get new piping. Because you dont know how good that intercooler will be unless you just want to try it and then post how it does. Im running the ssautochrome fmic which you can get for around 320 or so shipped from them. Or you can contact 2gawdtalon on here because he deals with them.

I dont know if you noticed but the FMIC that you linked won't even fit on your car. What they did was to take the piping from one of the Apexi GT knockoffs and just threw in a generic core. The piping will not work. Stick with what you got, just get new piping.
