Build your own 20g ?

I have a question . Can you make your small 16g into a 20g ? Please go easy on me here.
Id really like to no what it would take cause im crazy enough to learn how to do it. If you know how to improve the power of a 16g buy changing the inducer wheel and housing . I would like to hear it. I know it would need balanced but i just would like to know how possible it is . Thanks

SBR calls it a bastard 20g. Basically you need to find someone to machine the 16g housing to fit the 20g wheel which is pricey.

I believe both the Small 16G and 20G compressor wheels are round-backed, so theoretically it would be possible. Financially, though, you may be better off to sell your Small 16G and find a nice used 20G.

If you did the machine work to the CHRA to accept the new compressor wheel and replaced the Small 16G compressor cover with a 20G cover, you would end up with a TD05H 20G, which is the most common.

You could also have your Small 16G compressor cover machined to fit the 20G compressor wheel and end up with a Bastard 20G/Sleeper 16G like those made by Slowboy Racing and other popular vendors. This may be a less expensive venture than replacing the entire compressor cover, but your compressor wheel wouldn't flow quite as well as it would under the regular 20G cover.

If a 20G is really what you want, PM me and maybe we can work something out where I take your used Small 16G on a partial trade....I currently have (4) 20G's at my shop- all are freshly rebuilt and ready to roll.
