Well I am very close to piecing togeather my 50 trim setup. I have fixed all my boost leaks save one. I have had a boost leak from behind my intake mani forever. I thought it might be the break booster but that holds fine. So i am looking at the intake gasket now. I have new injector seals so it has to be the gasket right?

I do have a few questions.
1 That bracket on the back of the manifold.. Do I have to put it back on. That thing is a PITA.

2. I have read the free mods and have not done them yet. However now seems to be the time. There are four vac lines on the TB. Can I just cap them off and not worrie about where they go? Are any of them important?

That is the intake manifold stay, it supports the weight of the IM and TB, best that you leave it on.

I agree with everything on the diagrams except for the following.

1. Disabling of the pcv system (both pcv and breather).

2. Absolutely do not tap your BOV line as pressure source for the mbc.
 
Wholey shit. I finaly got the manifold off today. What a PITA. For anybody that needs to do this, if you have a hoist ust pull the motor. Much less time consuming if you know what you are doing. Oh and i finaly got a good look at mu knock sensor and there is no filling in it at all. Good thing I have another.
 
Wow, this is EXACTLY what I've just done, and only my PCV leaks. Putting the intake manifold back on was easier than getting it off though. Sorry to clutter the thread, just an odd coincidence.
 
Just a silly question but.... If both lines to the EGR valve are unhooked wouldnt the EGR stay closed? Why the need for the block off plate?
I don't know because I have never taken apart one but I have been in threads where it leaks without the block off plate and vacuum lines, I would do it right and play it safe.

I'm always doing a leak test. haha. I don't get much time to work on the car, only when I'm home from school. So I try to do a lot in the summer and around Christmas. I just put in the throttle body seals I bought from you about a year ago. :D
 
I hate this car right now. The prupose of all this boost leak fixing is to cure knock. I bought a new pcv valve, installed it, and it still allows air to go through. Is it supposed to? I have random knock spikes and anything after 4000 knocks like crazy. It does not matter how I adjust fuel it just knocks. I have had it as rich as 10:1 with no real change to the knock. I am running 19 psi on a FMIC and 680's. I have a 255 and I am soon to upgrade to a 50 trim. My only other thought is lifters. Mine are still stock. Would the revised lifters do me any good? I am guessing here. It is not possable for my car to have 30 counts of knock from 4 grand to 7 and not have blown up. I have done way to many pulls to have not blown up. I am going to shoot this car!!!
