Evo 9 intercooler

I recently purchased an evo 9 intercooler and was wondering if anyone else has used one or maybe someone has an install up or just something good to say about using one. My car is pretty stock but will eventually be using a turbo off of an evo 8. Is it worth it to put on the car now or wait untill i get the turbo?

It's up to personal preference, but to me it isn't worth the intercooler off of the EVO's. They will have to be custom fitted. And the EVO 8 turbo will not fit our cars, for they are reversed and facing the other way. A couple of people have used the EVO 8 intercooler. Search and you should fine your answer without much of a problem.

the evo 8 and evo 9 intercoolers are the same i believe. fmic'ing a t25 wont give you any gains...itll actually give you some pressure drop. thats why im swapping in a 14b THEN get a fmic....much more gains from a fmic'd 14b then a fmic'd t25 lol

You can run an EVO 8 turbo on a DSM you need to also use the manifold as well. It has been done before. And the EVO 8 & 9 intercoolers are the same

I just wanna know why people are trying to use evo fmic??? Is it to say that you have an evo part on your car??????
They are a PITA to route piping. It would alot easier to just buy a cheap fmic on ebay(90)shipped!

I would wait until you get the new turbo because depending on what turbo you actually decide to put on it, the size and route of the pipes might be different than that of your T25.

And you need a custom DP. Need to reroute wiring for the MAF. Need to relocated the alternator so you can run an intake. It isn't just as simple as swapping manifolds because the EVO 8 manifold is going to position it even farther to the driverside. Why use an EVO 8 turbo when you can get an EVO III 16g for less and no fab. needed. As far as the frontmount goes you will notice a pressure drop and very little gains from stock. Wait until you upgrade turbo's because if you use it on your T25 your gonna need all new LICP piping unless you just upgrade to a T28.
