I have an HKS SSQV and for some reason it wont blow off. Ive revved the engine under the hood and pushed it in with my finger and the air blows out. Im thinking something inside is messed up, but I wanna know is it possible to repair it or do I have to spend another $300.00 to get another one.

You might want to reference this thread.. http://dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=219259

There are some hks ssqv BOV experts in that thread.

You can also get a knockoff on EBAY for cheap if you don't want to pay another $300. They go for about $40-50 new. Replace the broken parts with the parts from the knockoff. But the knockoff WORKS. And it works pretty darn good. So you can just switch it out entirely.

Where is the vacuum line sourced from? Have you checked to see if the vacuum line is still attached?

that might be the problem because when i was taking the vacuum line off it came all the way out of the bov. i stuck it back in as far as i could. is this my problem? how can i fix it?

Are you talking about the fitting for the vacuum line? Is it still connected to the bov?

Where does the vacuum line go that is connected to the bov? Does it go to the intake manifold or to the throttle body?

well i got frustrated and took my ssqv apart. i noticed that the inside of it looks like rust is inside. i cleaned it all up and the rubber seals seemed to be really dry so i put a little grease on them. im hoping this will get it to work but if not, i tried.

Sounds to me like something isnt connected right. Does the car seem to run ok?? drive ok?? I guess more details would help... It is possible it could be a defective part. I run a ssqv on my 2g, works great for me. Let me know what you can...

So your saying that when you drive it, you dont hear anything blow off? The reason I ask is because I have a feeling that if it really wasnt working properly, your car would not run and drive ok. If thats the case, I would try loosening the screw on the back, the valve might be too tight...

I forgot to add, the SSQV is a sensative BOV, you wont hear much from it but a light flutter if your just revving the engine
