Altight so heres the deal, I have been looking at the non ball bearing 50 tirm that SBR sell and was wondering a few things.Hers the turbo.
http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=2190&
1) Can I run 8 psi on a 50 trim with the stock fuel system and a frount mount with a tial 38 mm wastegate.
2) How fast would the non ball bearing turbo spool.
3) how fast compared to the T-25 would it be at 8psi until i could get the supporting mods.

Edit: Im still on the 7bolt but its rebuilt with 17,000 miles.

you could run more than 8 psi on the stock stuff, you could just hook everything back the way it is, just with the new turbo.

the 50 with standard bushings will spool like a brick-shithouse compared to a t-25.

A BB 50 is alot more fun!

1) Yes you can run more than 8 psi on stock fuel system. Some will say 15 psi even, but just to be on the safe side if I were you I would only run 12-13 psi.
2) I drove my friend's 2G AWD with a pte 50, and it spooled by 3700-3800 RPM's.
3) At 8 psi, I am not sure but if you turn the boost up the car will def be a more intense ride.

Hope that helps :thumb:

Yes, but with much more top end:D :D

Yes, but only for a few hundred RPM's in spoolup is it worth the extra cost??

the extra power and broader powerband is Definetly worth the extra cash, and lets not for get the added reliablity of the water cooling!

comming from a V-8 back ground you want and NEED all the grunt you can muster out of your bullit as quick as you can find it. I always rec the PTE 5031re for street cars looking for a replacement turbo.

I got my GT3076 by mistake and ran it anyway, but after 1000 miles i still kinda with i had got the 5031.

Dont Knock them until you try them!

Oh I am not knocking them, I am just curious about them. I have never driven a BB PTE 5031, so I am just curious is it worth the extra cost.

I believe it is!

The extra cost gets you a faster spoolup, better transiant boost response between gears, a much more durable ball bearing bearing, and watercooling.

I never realy maxed out my 16G, I always had knock at 18 to 20 psi (timming)

and I thought it was all the hot air it was making-wrong- any way if I was back at the dead 14 b stage I might have considered a Evo 16 G again, with DSM link or the chip I have now.

To me the 20 G and FP green are just too expensive when compared to the PTE or SBR garret offerings
that offer more current designs and better effiency.

I really wish people would stop saying what is safe and what is not safe. Here is a tip get some type of logger/widband and turn up the boost untill YOU see it starting to pull timing or get knock etc etc. Each car is differnt some guys do fine at 17psi on a 16g on stock fuel and other knock at 14psi with the same set up. Who knows if you have pisswater 91 like we do or 93. I know we are talking about a 50trim but the concept is the same. Each car is different and anyone that tells you that you can run X amount of boost is guessing. Only YOU will be able to tell for sure. I would really get your fuel set up first before anything IMO. :thumb:

EXCELLENT post. :thumb: I wish I could give you rep points, bro. I'm impressed.

FYI, the BB5031 vs. the 5031 is about 2-400 rpm faster spool, but the BIG difference is keeping that sucker spooled between shifts. Believe me, there IS a difference. I've had both. Also, at 23 psi on my Denso 660's I'm hitting 90% IDC.
