I bought a 16g for my 2g. I want to try to use my old lower intercooler pipe that i used for my stock turbo. I was wondering if anyone used there licp with a j pipe and a 90 degree coupler on a 16g. I dont want to buy a j pipe if this wont work.

Sounds like a good idea, thats what I was going to do. Or just buy SBR 2g install kit, which I believe comes with a pipe for the licp.

I put a big 16g on my old 95 gst and the install kit came with a short j-pipe that was used in conjuction with my stock licp. If I remember correctly (about 6yrs ago) I just had to cut a few inches off the licp so it would match up with the j-pipe and stock smic.

It was very simple, once you get the turbo on you can see what has to happen to make it work.

alright , thanks for the advice. I have everything on right now, it looks like ill be able to rig something up.

I see what your saying now, ive been looking for a used j pipe for a couple weeks now, no luck. Thats the only thing holding me back from starting the car.

Theres got to be some in the classifieds section, if not check on dsmtrader.com

mine is a 6bolt swap also so im not positive if this will work for you but it should.

i used the stock 1g elbow and the stock 2g licp. i cut the vertical section of the licp and clamped in a 6 inch long piece of tubing. . cut the plastic clips off the fan shroud where the wire clips in and ziptie it on the side. then you have just barely enough room to fit the stock extended licp onto the 1g jpipe. its a tight fit between the icpipe, intake, rad hose and the shift linkage but it seems to work ok for me. i can take pics if you need them
