No extremepsi's EVO3 is not a GT, it is a true EVO3 16g.

The only reason I see for a different price is vendors don't always have the same price for the same items. They both are great vendors. I only dealt with SBR once, great service. I bought about 7 times from extreme psi, by far one of the greatest customer service, and are fast with shipping out your items.

But since I dealt with extremepsi more often, and the lower price I would go with extreme psi

SB is more expensive for the same turbo, but why?

because extremepsi can offer the same product at a more competative rate. cheers to saving money on the same product from a highly recommeded shop.

I would stick with SBR simply because they are SBR. I have never had problems with either of the two vendors but SBR has always been quick to respond to my questions. Who knows, maybe they would price match it.

Go with whoever can get it to you sooner and you feel more comfortable with. If you read on the SBR site it says they will match any vendor price on a true MHI EVOIII turbo so what do you like better. Look around for vendor reviews and make an informed decision. Good Luck and enjoy the new turbo. :rocks: :thumb:

I got the SBR Evo III, love it.... just wish I had not got the 34mm flapper *pissed at self* gotta figure out a way to run high boost now!!

But the turbo its self was great, came packaged in some dence papper packageing in a plastic sealed bag, has a protective oil like coating on it that keeps it from rusting. See as how there all cast iron. I think the Evo turbos are of a better iron alloy anyway though, lighter stronger less likely to rust & or crack.

It is the same MHI turbo. If you want it ported, get it from SBR. If you don't want it ported, get it from Extremepsi. I've bought everything from Extremepsi and I like them. Never bought anything from SBR (yet).

This is the best idea in this thread so far.

Sure saving a few bucks is nice, but if you run into a ton of problems with that vendor then saving a few bucks is a mute point.

extremepsi is my favorite vendor by far. Free shipping on anything, the shipping is VERY VERY fast.

Not anymore. Its $7.50 for every item now. But they still have VERY VERY FAST SHIIPPING like you mentioned!!

Whats wrong with EXTREME PSI's port job?? Or what makes SBR's port work better that you recommend him to get it ported from there instead of Extreme PSI?? Just asking whats the diference in the two since they both port the turbo if you want.

Just call SBR and Extreme to confirm that both are the mistu turbos.
Extreme PSI is local to me and i recommend doing business with them.

just so you know extremepsi doesnt have the ported turbine with NO flapper mod in stock, as im still waiting for mine :(

Actualy I do have something slightly negative to say about the SBR deal I got. on the exhaust side of the turbo where the O2 houseing bolts, it had been scratched a few times. Im guessing a tool missed/jumped whatever when someone was doing the 34mm flapper deal.

Wasnt a big deal though I got a piece of glass and some 800grit sand paper and slid it on it for a min, good as new.

wow I'm very surprised extremepsi doesn't offer free shipping on $75 bucks or more, that was huge for me. I'm pretty let down about that, but will continue to use them.

what's to say he won't experience problems from SBR? as i said, ExtremePSI is highly recommended and has down-to-earth people working there. im not trying to start a hissing match, just trying to make a point. human beings work at both SBR and ExtremePSI, and as we all know, human beings make mistakes.

first of all, ExtremePSI does not do the portwork themselves. they actually send out/order the product that has been purchased to a professional place that has extensive knowledge and experience. ExtremePSI doesn't let their interns port the consumer's parts. that would be truly unprofessional.

Holy crap man calm down. Please show me were I said he would have problems with Extreme PSI. I was making a point that no matter who you go with go with them for the right reasons not just price. It wasn't that hard to understand.

i am perfectly calm. again, im not trying to take sides here or say one vendor is better than another or anything of the sort. i was simply trying to make a point like you. btw it is implicit when you said that "if" he experiences problems that he will more-likely-than-not experience problems. again, ExtremePSI is a well-known and well-respected vendor. what are these "right reasons" you speak of? if a shop makes some sort of mistake, it should not matter who he purchased the product from.

btw i just noticed that ExtremePSI now sells DSMLinkOMG :rocks:http://www.extremepsi.com/store/customer/product.php?productid=19038

EDIT: boostiedinaz, perhaps i see what you are saying now, because i would still only get my DSMLink and EPROM from here: http://www.ffwdconnection.com/electronix.shtml

I am well aware of Extreme PSI's reputation and I have spent a good deal of money with them.

The right reasons would be anything that will make the transaction go smoothly. I see a lot of people buying from whoever happens to be the cheapest and that company may have horrible customer service, super long waiting times, bad packaging and so on. I would gladly pay a few bucks more to know that if I have a problem it will be fixed promptly and with out an BS. Plus, I want to support a vendor that supports the people that make there paycheck possible.

I have bought from both vendors and had small issues with both vendors. One fixed the problem right away and made me happy one lied time and after time and are not worth a shit. Like it was said go to www.vendors-reviewed.com and see who is who.

both are good.....but one SEVERELY lies about when you'll get your product......should be easy to figure out which one ;)

I got my fmic about a week after they said I would....I pleaded with them to tell me the absolute latest date so my friends could take off work too..

Extremepsi is not a turbo or DSMshop. They buy and sell things and as DSMunknown said they don't do thier own porting. If you look at their website, porting is not even an option on the turbo. If the original poster wants a ported turbo, he can get everything from SBR.

ForcedPerformance.net sells ported Evo III 16Gs too and from what I've heard their port work is excellent.

EDIT: Nevermind, I found the porting option on Extremepsi's website.

Hmm funny you say porting is not an option when i ordered it from extremepsi exactly a week ago for an evo 16g.

i guess you should look a little closer.

I believe they send it out for the port-job, I don't believe anything is done in house really.

Doesn't matter as long as it's well done.

Ah, never mind. I found the porting option under optional modifications. My bad.
