Next month i will upgrade the turbo setup for my car, I already have but not installed, maft, 880cc inj. turbonetics manifold, turbonetics evolution w/g and will buy DSMlink and a T3/TO4 turbo. I can get a Garrett 60trim TO4E/T3 turbo on a local speed shop for $600, STD shaft stage 3. My friend has a wrx with a 1 month old Turbonetics TO4E/T3 57trim stage 3 .63 big shaft turbo that cost $750 on the same speed shop and he is selling me for $600 and also has a billet backplate

Whats the differance in performance or durability between these two setups? I can get a repair kit for the garrett for $45 will it be the same for the Turbonetics one?

I like the turbonetics cus it will make a good match with the manifold and w/g, cus the compressor cover is polished and says Turbonetics. Maybe i will also buy turbonetics raptor BOV.

what do you think? pro and cons about bigh saft turbine wheels

Personally I would rather see you with a 50 trim or 60 trim, the 57 trim is not a great compressor wheel.

Make sure whatever turbo you get has a upgraded thrust bearing that bolts down. Forced performance uses these, so does AGP on their hand built units.

You would need a new compressor housing and the turbo would have to be re-balanced. Your better off just buying the turbo that you want, so you don't have to upgrade later.
