What do you guys think? Only 385 for the whole thing shipped. I know the bov is a knock-off, but I am not boosting crazy amounts, so I think it would hold enough for my car. My main concern is the wastegate, because if that doesn;t work, my engine blows up. If you work out the numbers though, its less than 100$ each for the main parts of the kit, and a free mbc.

I'm sure the Piping and the Intercooler would be fine, I am actually running an XOXO ebay intercooler right now and have nothing but good things to say about it.

The knock-off HKS style bov is a different story however. A friend of mine decided to try one of those and it was a complete piece of crap. It was even a downgrade from the 2g plastic bov. The thing leaked like crazy even around 9-10 psi.

I would ask the seller if he would discount the kit without the bov. You'd be better off buying a 1g bov or a real greddy/hks bov. Just my .02.

With boost control it is extremely important to get the right material so you know what your car can handle, and how its going to perform. Im not sure if I would trust knock-off 'style' parts becuase they are made with different material, and you really do get what you pay for with the difference.
The is a disection on here somewhere of the 'greddy type S' and its ebay cheap-o counterpart. He shows all the different parts and what each is made out of. Name brands really back up their parts and test them thuroughly. You can notice a difference and so can your car.
Its your call if you want to put a wastegate on your car that has a 'style' portion in its name. Im not ripping on you or whatever choice you make its just that there are namebrands for a reason, its not like an exhaust where the basic premise is the same. There is alot more incorporated with a wastegate that im not sure if many part manufacture's can pull off.
good luck man!

No offense taken, I had seen a few posts about some knock offs that are good to use. If I was going to get the parts seperately though, I would just get a JRC fmic and a piping kit and a used wg/bov off the classifieds. Ill see what I can find in the next couple days.

JRC intercoolers are good from what ive heard. And yes- I have heard as well that some knock-off's are good for certain cars and such. Im just trying to help, and save you the hassle of buying something that is going to possibly break your car. And thats no good.:notgood:

Goro21 is right. The other stuff might be all right, just keep an eye on the wastegate. But throw the Bov in the garbage or just sell it on ebay again. The Bov can leak as little as 5psi. There was a write up about in the april modified mag.
