Ok so i'm not real sure if this is the correct thread to put this in but if a moderator needs to move it so be it.
Here's my issue, I bought a '91 AWD Tsi a while back and took out a lot of stuff to check hoses and such for cracks and also fix smic fins etc etc. When I bought the car it had a lot of oil all over the valve cover and down all the way to the turbo, I wasn't sure if the oil was coming from both the valve cover and the turbo or just vavle cover. So I replaced the valve cover gasket and cleaned off all the oil everywhere.
My issues comes when I tried to take the exhaust mani off and the turbo, some of the studs are stuck in the block and I twisted a head clean off with some of the stud still in the block, these things were extremely rusty and I used some rust spray to try to loosten things up, auto-x is coming up and I really want to put this stuff back together but I'm not well versed in fixing broken studs.
I'm sure someone on here knows how to fix my issue with the studs, anyone have any suggestions?
Also there is a seal for the 14b turbos I think, (don't flame if i'm wrong
), will this cause oil leakage if bad or broke? How much do they cost to replace and is it difficult to replace?
Also is it wise to put a new mani gasket on the car because of all the leaking oil or should I not even mess with it?
I really just want to make sure i'm not going to have any leaks or loss of oil all over my engine.
Thanks.
