ok my goal is to hit 250-275 hp. i got everything i need for a turbo, except the actual turbo itself. I got a 13g, but I just traded it for autometer phantom oil presssure and boost gauges. I wont be running more than 8psi ever.

For the exhaust, I am going to be fabricating a dual exhaust system to keep the noise as low as possible, probably running a 3" downpipe to the cat, 3 inch cat, then split up into dual 1.5 pipes.

For fuel, I currently have a 255 walbro, need a 12:1 fmu. question on this is woulda 10:1 work well enough or is the 12:1 neccessary?

I could port the intake manifold and the throttle body. Is there any gains into porting these out?

I had the 13g, and it was really small, spools at 1800 (from what ive read), but wont put out the hp I want. would the 14b be enough or should I go 16g. I am trying to stick to mitsu turbos since I already have the manifold, which I pulled off a totalled gs from the junkyard. The turbo looked to be in bad shape, but was a 14b. I want something that will give me good gains, and my average shift is at 3.5k rpms. I am auto.

Also, I would like to have a FMIC. I currently have a 1g SMIC, which I will run with press bent piping until I get the FMIC, then have mandrel bent piping custom made.

what will be hp be at after these mods? will I be getting my goals or am I shooting too far?

Is this turbo for the N/T or do you have another car? If it is for the N/T - the 14B will be enough for your goals.

If you won't be running more than 8psi boost and your goal is of 250-275:
1) You don't need to have a FMIC
2) 2 1/2" exhaust would be better than dual 1.5" pipes. You might have issues with boost creep.
3) I don't think porting the intake manifold or the throttle body would give you enough gains. You'd get more gains by porting the exhaust manifold and the o2 housing.

Are you running the 255 pump without an AFPR?

if you don't plan on running more than 8psi (why?) I don't know that you can even make those goals on a 16g.

Also, instead of running a really complicated exhaust system, I would do this:

3" stainless
3" highflow cat
3" resonator
3" baffled muffler (non-n1 style).

That will be pretty quiet, until you are really standing on it, IME.

The exhaust is something I want to do, not just because of noise but I want it to be dual.

I cant push over 8psi because I am not building up the internals on my engine. Dont want to start burning rings and popping pistons.

I will be using a 12:1 FMU until I can get a SAFC/Wideband to tune.

Exhaust manifold is custom welded, not a cast-form. Cant be ported, but has 1.5" runners, which would equal out to a ported turbo manifold. will port the o2 housing.

What kind of hp/torque would I be seeing with this setup?
