So am I missing anything for Evo III?

Hey guys/girls

I'm getting 6bolt swap done on my 2g. Since the motor is getting swapped so i decide to upgrade turbo as well. But at the moment funds are low so i wont be getting all the supporting mods. At the moment i have KN airfilter that will go with 2g MAFT, Later on i will be getting RNR turboback exhaust, Lower and upper intercooler piping.

Turbo parts
190lph Fuel pump
EVO III TURBO
EVO III MANIFOLD
EVO III o2
J PIPE
SS OIL LINE
550cc injectors

So do i need anything else???

I'm guessing you are talking about putting your K&N filter on the 2G MAS and not the MAFT. The MAFT is used with a GM MAF.

1) The EvoIIIo2 has a different angle for the downpipe flange, your downpipe that you plan on buying (if made for a 2G) will not be a direct bolt-on.
2) You might want to consider porting your turbine housing, wastegate passage and the O2 housing to avoid issues with boost creep.
3) You need a boost gauge, EGT gauge, some kind of logger
4) You plan on getting 550cc injectors (I'd go with 660ccs), but you still need some way to control them like SAFC or MAFT with a GM MAF.

If funds are short, drop the manifold and the o2 and instead get some gauges, logger and a fuel controller. www.extremepsi.com has a few packages for DSMs that might save you some money. :dsm:

1)how about rnr turboback with internal o2 dump?
2)yeah i was going to get turbo, 02 ported for boost creep issue.
3)yeah i have the boost gauge so i will be getting egt gauge also, logger i will be getting it later also
4)yeah i did a research and 550cc is what most ppls used for EVO III, Yeah i will be gettin MAFT with GM MAF.

yeah i will be getting the package deal from extremepsi so i dont have to worry about that... but drop the manifold and o2 housing?

So which part is required for EVO III install?? Since my car wont be running until early next year. But before end of this year i will be getting motor swapped and turbo installed. So i need to know what part i need to get turbo installed first? And which part i could get later on?

The RNR turboback exhaust with internal o2 dump is an o2 eliminator, you don't need to get another evoIIIo2 manifold.

While most people use 550cc, 660cc will be best if you decide to upgrade your turbo to a 50 trim or something. You might max out your 550cc running high boost on the evoIII turbo.

You'll be able to run on the stock manifold. evoIII manifold is nice if your nice one is cracked, but look into SBRs manifolds, they are a nice alternative. The stock 2G manifold will bolt on to the evoIII16G turbo, so you can get the manifold later.

And you do plan on getting a boost controller, right?

hmmm yeah i will be getting RNR Turboback exhaust with internal o2 dump so i guess i wont be needing EVO III o2 housing.

Hmm i wont be upgrading turbo anytime soon so ill worry about that later on but does it really make a difference of 550cc and 660 cc with Evo III tho? Max out 550cc with high boost on Evo III? i didnt read about that but I guess i need second opinion on the 550cc/660cc...

Yeah i mite go with stock manifold and just get it ported. But since my car motor is getting swap so i figured i will do everything same time but i guess i will decide later on when my motor is done and see how much money i have left.

Yeah i will be getting boost controller but i dont want to raise up the boost since my motor will be new and i dont want to since i wont have all the supporting mod.

By the time motor swap is done i will have Evo III, ported manifold, fuel injector, 190lph fuel pump and get fuel pump rewire, KN airfilter with 2g MAS. Exhaust i will get it later when i get enough money saved since my money will be going toward swap and turbo parts. Like end of this year motor swap, turbo parts. Early next year exhaust, upper & lower Intercooler piping, boost controler.

I would say a safc or fuel xontroller of some kind then a wideband o2 sensor or a egt gauge and then a the all needing logger so you've got another 700 to 800 bucks to spend depending on new and used parts

There's no point is getting turbo and fuel mods before getting the exhaust, boost controller etc first. You need supporting mods before you get the turbo. :thumb:

LOL i understand what your saying but my car wont be running until i get exhaust, intake.. Boost controller i will worry about it later since i dont want to boost too much now but that will be later.
