Well i went about two hours away out of town friday and the car was running fine till friday night.on the way back from a friends on the highway i had to get on it in 4th to speed up and i saw a big stream out oil smoke out of the exhaust.while i had the huge oil trail i noticed the oil pressure dropped about 30 psi from normal.the turbo is done lots of shaftplay and the exhaust is full of oil even comming out of the apex n1.my question is does the oil pressure drop that much psi for a totaly failed turbo?any help would be great since its my work car also.

If in fact oil is pouring out of the seal, yes.

Exactly. And without even know what your oil set up is or even taking a look at your turbo, I bet it was caused by "oil contamination" or at least that is what PTE will tell you Garanteed.

Mine went out same way....

Was running fine then it shit its self at the track.

Tore it all down, and no signs of oil contamination or oil starvation.

We may have found something interesting, but I havent confirmed it with the guy that inspected the turbo yet.

i am so pissed off its not even funny!!!!i got the turbo off today when i got home and its thrashed all to shit.inducer wheel left some nice grooves in the compressor housing and more shaft play than a turbo with no bearings.i ran a greddy 18g for two years with no problems and a turbonetics for a year also with no problems.this turbo was on the car and did not even last two months!i called them today and thay said to send it back but the scm is just ####ed and im just sycho right now about this whole deal.

Get it replaced under warranty, sell it and replace it with something else.
