Does anyone know where I can purchase a garrett/mitsubishi adapter plate so that I can bolt up a full Garrett turbo to the mitsubishi manifold, or if no vendors sell them how can I make one myself. I want to go this route because full garrett turbos are considerably cheaper than hybrids.

Remember to add in the cost of of a custom O2 housing/downpipe as the Garrett turbos have a different outlet than the Mitsu-based turbos/hybrids.

Which one were you looking into?

I can easily make a garrett 02 housing just like I made my mitsubishi 3" O2 housing w/tial 38 flange, RRE has the Garrett O2 flanges and I have some spare 3" tight radius mandrel bends so thats not a problem. The only thing that I'm worried about is wastegate placement. If I don't find a wastegated Garrett turbo I'll have to get someone to weld a tial 38 flange onto the manifold. Most muffler shops do not know how to properly weld cast iron so I'll probably buy the new Slowboy manifold with the tial 38 flange already in the casting. I need a new manifold anyway because my current one has a couple of hairline cracks in it. I plan on going with a 60-1 with a .63 turbine housing, my goal is 500hp at the crank.

The new SBR manifold is an option, but you would still need the adaptor. Why not pickup a SFP or Turbonetics manifold? Both allow direct bolt-on of a T3 Garrett, have the provision for an external and are available now :dsm:

Aren't those two manifolds between 4 & 500.00 dollars? Wouldn't I come out cheaper by using the slowboy manifold + adapter plate?

Depend on the pricing / availability of the SBR manifold.

Then again the THIS is avail now, no adaptor plate needed.

..and no it's not mine ;)

That is a good deal but I was planning on doing this setup around late July, early August, due to lack of funds right now because of school.

The flange is pretty easy to make up. its just a piece of plate with both sets of holes in it
I have one sitting in my parts box at work.
