hey guys...

just wanted to know how freely the 14b turbo wheel is supposed to spin...i have the turbo housing off due to a replacement in progress and was checking out the wheel...(not the compressor wheel)

it spins fine...but it makes a sort of scraping sound...much like the sound of writing on a chalkboard...i'm not sure if this is normal...

is this something i should try and clean?...i didn't have any problems with it spooling when the car was running...but i also don't want to do more work later since i'm already there...

hoping for some opinions...

thanks

if the exhaust housing is off when you spin it will make a sort of "scraping" or "ching" noise because the exhaust wheel is tapping that little metal cover next to it. Its hard to explain but normal. when the housing is on no noise should come from the turbo
