Hey all, wassup!?! Ok I have searched most of the threads here and I have not yet found an answer to my question. Here goes! I have a 1990 FWD Plymouth laster, Manual w/stock Turbo.

My turbo is leaking oil so I am purchasing a T3/T4 Turbo with a .50T COMPRESSOR WHEEL, STAGE IV WHEEL BRAND NEW, T04E T3/T4 .70 A/R TURBINE HOUSING, COMPRESSOR HOUSING A/R .50 TO4E 3" INLET. Its a hybrid setup for big HP, which is what I need. Ofcourse I am buying all the other things...upgraded fuel pump, injectors, FMIC, all that manditory stuff.

My question is that the turbo exhaust requires a 3" downpipe that clamps right on to the turbo exhaust housing and I would need to fabricate that to fit to the stock exhaust system, which eventually is going to go 2 1/2" all the way back with a highflow cat.

As far as I know the O2 sensor can be mounted on the down pipe by just drilling and tapping a hole. Is there anything that I will be messing up or leaving out by taking out the O2 housing and replacing it with a regular 90deg bent pipe mated to the down pipe? Can it be done? Cant I just do that and drill the hole in it for the O2 sensor?

This is the only part I have not really looked into yet so I need your help!! Also I am in NY and the emmissions here is strict...would it still pass?

Thanks in advance :)

Ok no one can help me yet? Im still looking into it more myself... I guess I dont know where to look or am looking in all the wrong places... cause Im not getting anywhere. The reason why I am so wanting to do this is because I can get this turbo from a friend for so cheap!....

Anyone... please? :sneaky:

Yes you can use a 3" mandrel bend for an O2 housing, my only concern is where the wastegate is placed in your setup. If it's on the manifold it should be easy and out of the way, if it's internally gated or off the O2 housing the piece will be tougher to make, not that complicated though, best of luck, nice turbo :thumb:

PS. you can check out the O2 housings on the Forced Performance website for ideas.

I am using a turbo header that had a port for an external wastegate so that is not going to be an issue. Thanks alot for the info... Yeah I am gonna love this turbo set up... cant wait to get it all installed and tuned!!

Hey "na_turbotalon" thanks for the PS on Forcedperformance.com they actually have a v-band 3" O2 housing dump tube with the bung for the sensor, but they are extreamly expensive IMO. I have a freind who works at a weld shop so I could buy the parts and get it all welded for so much less. BUt thanks for the info....

But anyway... for those of you who dont know and who were sceptical just like me... Yup it can be done!! Also along the lines of getting more Tech Info in this Forum I will be taking pictures and documenting step by step on how I did this set up... it might be a month or two...but I will have it all done and posted for more so-called newbies like myself!
