I could have sworn that wasn't in there. :coy: White smoke usually means that you are getting antifreeze into your cylinders. Do a compression check and see if your head gasket is blown.

I've been noticing a lot of cars without cats are getting what appears to be white smoke under high boost. My car started doing it too right after the test pipe install.

if the head gasket IS blown, how much is the average repair price for that? any other possible causes?

A new gasket is $50 - $100. Assuming the block and head don't need to be decked it probably still costs around $500 for labor at a shop. I'd expect to spend $600 - $700 if you were to have the dealership do it. It's basically a timing belt job with a few extra steps. If you do it on your own you could do it for as little as $50 and about 5 hours.

I am actually in the middle of replacing my headgasket. I brought the head to a machine shop so they can do all of the cleanup/testing to insure that it isn't cracked or warped. Machine shop cost is going to be $93

That is what the price will be is a shop does it. Hopefully you have some automotive savy people that will help you for a case of beer and some pizza :sneaky:
