Hey everyone, I have been tweaking my new forced performance wastegate actuator for anout a week now. I have adjusted the arm to where the boost jumps to 18 psi and it still falls down to 12 psi by 6krpm. I called forced performance and the guy siad you have to adjust the arm shorter. Each time i adjust the arm shorter the boost goes up higher. i thought it was the 17psi spring inside that would hold the boost regardless of the psi it is set at. Does anyone now what can cause the boost to still drop. I have tried it hooked up to a mbc, and currently i have it running fromt he actuator to the compressor housing. I have a greddy type s BOV, and injen intake which i don't think would cause any problems. I have an autometer boost gauge and it seems to read accurately because when i put the stock BOV on it reads 13 psi. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :dsm:

Anyone? Is it possible it can be my BOV? Or is it the actuator not doing what it should be doing? Please Help.

When was the last time you checked for boost leak? Have you check the turbo for any signs of trouble, shaft play....etc?

Thanks for the replies. I do have a t25 turbo but it has a t28 wheel. Forced performance made this actuator specifically for t25s and it is supposed to hold 15 psi to redline, and 17psi to 6000 rpm. I have not done a boost leak test, because i haven't made on yet but i need to. But can it be something simple like the BOV being adjusted too soft or the BOV leaking? I figure the length of the actuator arm shouldn't make a difference on the boost holding, because that is what the spring is for inside the actuator. Please any help would be great.

So would a boost leak cause this or is this normal even with the forced performance actuator? I need advise or help asap please. Is there any solutions to fixing this?

I'm not familiar with the FP T25/T28 wheel setup but if FP advertised to hold 17psi I would take their word for it as they are one of the more reputable dsm turbo shops. The only thing left unquestioned is boost leak. http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html

On a side note, are you trying to run 17psi with a stock pump?

Thanks for the help. I only want to run a steady 15 psi all the way to redline for now. I plan on upgrading my fuel system this summer. Iam gonna do a boost leak test soon and see where it's coming from. My guess is the BOV because when i have the stock one on it will hold 13 psi, when i have the type s BOV on it drops to 12 psi. Not much of a difference but we will see. Thanks again for the help. :dsm:
