only a t28

we all know the t28 is the turbo Mitsu should have put in the 2g, but what if they did. what kind of times would a completely stock 2g GSX run if it had a t28 ensted of a t25. I've been wondering this for along time, mostly because (not all of them) alot of dsm's like to have random things break when you decide to make them go faster.

Considering the BOV and UIP suck, intercooler is small, exhaust isn't very big, intake from the fender is tiny, I don't think it'd go much faster. Maybe mid 14's.

don't think of it as a DSMer, think of it as a mitsu tech.

a regular t28 will flow close to 2x the max air of a t25.. but from the factory it will still be at 9-11 psi.

I'd say high 14's at best.

yes with the stock exhaust and bov it would blow (or wouldn't) but with a t-28 and basic bolt ons a 2g would have ALOT more potential then it has now.

With a T28 stock 2G guys would be able to dip into the low 13's possibly high 12's with boltons and race gas. Similar to a 1G really, which isn't all that fast stock but with exhaust and IC pipes on race gas with a MBC can be quick.

went 13.0 in a fwd with pump gas and a cat on the old fpt28 not big or killer.. they are descent turbos but mid 12's is pushing it on race gas and good tuning.

i'm looking to put a big28 in my car. i currently have intake, exhaust, uip, and aftermarket bov. would i be pushing it if i don't put any more supporting mods? if not.. what do i have to get for now just to get by? i do plan to get all the necessary mods in a few months. any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Run it at 14 PSI and port the crap out of your O2 Sensor housing.

You'll be fine.

Isn't the idea of a really fast spoolin turbo on a FWD car bad? I mean wouldn't you be spinning the tires really easily? Wouldn't you want a turbo to start spoolin after you get about 20-30 ft and then feel it kick some ass i.e big16g?

There really won't be any improvement with a larger turbo. The smaller turbo may even be better for a FWD car. Going from making no power to insane power is not nice to tires. At least with a smaller turbo the power is already there and you can regulate it with the throttle. Better tires and suspension will be better for a FWD car than any "laggier" turbo will be.

big 16g is not going to really make a dif for fron wheel drive, sure not no 30 feet. hey lemme get this turbo that spools like 100rpm later so i dont spin...just isnt gonna happen

My evoIII is ALOT easier to control over the T25 and spool ALOT slower then the T25. If the engine is under a heavy load it spool closer to the T25 but I'd have to say it helps with traction. I also have motor mount inserts sways bars and strut bars though.

I've also noticed the higher the boost I run the faster the turbo spools and the better I can control traction. Probably because the boost is more linear and doesn't spike... but it works

I kinda wanna try a 20G now
