Okay, so I was installing my new Small 16g turbo tonight and I ran into a snag. The stud on the 14b turbo... wont come out. New stud? Yea...

The ss oil line... connects from the turbo to the oil filter housing.. correct? Well then what do you do with the old connection to the head? Simply put a bolt in it's place and close it up?

If anybody can list any other snags i might run into thatd be helpful so i can plan ahead of time and have the Hardware store open... :notgood:

thanks boyzzz

block the old hole off with a bolt/copper washer. Connect the new line to the oil filter housing, you will need to get the allen head out of the housing. ITS IN TIGHT! Be careful, get the correct allen tool and spray it with oil and use some heat, dont strip it.

go out and buy a bolt. it'll make installing/removing the turbo and manifold much easier in the future.

okay. um how about the exhaust manifold? there's that ring that goes on the inside of the exhayst housgin of the turbo and the inside of the manifold. it's too small for the 16g side. so dont use it? Or is there a specific ring i must buy before i install?

The ring is there to prevent the gasket from blowing out. You should get the 7cm gasket from www.roadraceengineering.com (won't blow out no matter what) and port the turbo and manifold so that little step is gone, then you won't need the ring.

But if you just want to put it together for now, then leave the ring out...it's not a big deal. Just think about changing it in the future.

Okay I just got it running. Spools great, pulls hard, sounds SICK as hell... I dunno why it sounds different. the wastegate? WTF

BUT! I'm leaking, im not sure where, either the sending line on the turbo, or the drain line on the turbo. I'll look at it when it's light out.

It was my oil drain..... fixed.. but i made a boo-boo and i had 2 (dry?) starts... im scared of knock
