I just got done ripping out the turbo today for inspection...completely seized...LOL...in any case, I found a nice crack on the header...I guess my question is pretty simple...I don't plan to build this car to infinity, but I do like replacing oem parts with upgrades so here i am...bone stock 98 GSX and a cracked header and fried turbo...i would like to throw in a turbo that will run in a stock environment but (down the road when I can do the supporting mods like fuel delivery, spark and yadee yadee yadda) I would like a little more bang for my buck...I am allready debating between a t25, 14b or s16g turbo but now I also apparantly have to factor in a header...can anyone tell me what or who makes a good header that would function in a stock envrionment or perhaps a turbo/header combination? I have been looking at this pacesetter header because it is supposed to be close to oem and can mount mitsu configured turbos...but is there a better option? All the headers I locate require a t3/t4 turbo...not really interested in going into a gigantic turbo or looking for more than an eventual and reliable 300-350 HP with a few shiny goodies. I am just looking for a mild to medium build...so I am hoping that someone has the time to tutor a good listener...I need advice...header/turbo combination that primarily needs to address reliability over pure HP gains and hopefull will function in a stock car with no supporting mods and the turbo not boosting over stock conditions...I would also be willing to lob a downpipe and exhaust in there...and in a few months I'll finish up with a cat back, something to boost spark and a fuel pump/injector and controller combo...but i allready have a blown turbo and a cracked manifold that need attention RIGHT NOW...LOL...please help!

Well, I would go with the sbr cast manifold and a t28. They are both direct bolt ons and will work fine for the moment untill you get supporting mods. Just keep boost at stock level and rewire the fuel pump.

Buy a used Evo3 exhaust manifold, they should go anywhere from $150-200. I know PINAmotorsports.com should have them for $160 last time I heard. That exhaust manifold is a bit more reliable due to the higher nickel content which helps it to not crack as easily.

As far as turbo advice, post your goals as far as what you want to use the car for.

I am just looking to build a daily driver...no serious track use save for some occaisional weekend fun runs at the local drag...mainly just for bragging rights

How about a Evo 3 mani and a big t28 from forced performance. That turbo is an incredible upgrade for a 2g and will give you your power goals with ease.

i have a FP Big T-28 and i love it as a daily driver turbo. Comes on fast like the t-25 and strong like a 16g. good investment for a daily driven car. Im thinking of replaceing mine with an EvoIII 16g, shoot me a PM if you wanna buy a slightly used T-28.
