i will be installing a pte 50 trim in the next week or so, and i dont have a oil return line. i was wondering if there is any way to retro fit a 1g oil return line to the pte, or is there any other alternatives? $70- $100 seems like too much for an oil return line

cut your stock 1g drain, get 5/8 ID hose and connect it from the garrett drain fitting.

I don't recommend that, the angles are kinda a btch to work with. Just buy the new flanges and do it right the first time, that is what I ended up having to do. Unless you can get a piece of hose that is molded to the right angle.....

so just buy the garrett flange and mitsu flange, then connect it together with silicone hose? can you get in a little more detail. thanks

I don't think the oil system for the turbo should be a place to try and cut costs. If you try something cheaper and mess up a seal, it would be cheaper in the long run just to have put the right drain on it in the first place. If you make your own, I'd error on the big side, make sure it won't kink, and make sure it fully uses the gravity available from it's mounting position.

Just my opinion,
Brian

when i got my 50 trim, i thought hte same thing; i would make my own oil drain. after messing with stuff for a while i said screw it and bought the proper parts. then i bolted it right on and went driving.
save yourself the time and trouble, just spend a few bucks more and get it right the first time.

what kit did you buy? i got the bullseye kit from ebay and it was complete garbage. Would not fit no matter what. The top flange was machined "sideways" to clear the lower motor mount. Instead of using a 45 angle for it. (correct way) they did it all wrong. Will never buy anything from them again.

I GOT mine from through the Swap Shop locally. it is an AMS kit. fit great, all aeroquip fittings and stainless braided drain line.

$70-$100 for an oil drain line isnt a few bucks. thats why it is so hard to put that kind of money for somethin like this. there must be a good alternative

i guess it depends on your definition of a few bucks and your disposable income...it's all relative. it's worth it though.

Its only your motor oil, turbo, and engine at stake. No big deal.

It still wont save you any money on car insurance!!

The line you need is from a 93-94 5 speed turbo TEL. That is the line that came on the car with a 14b and 7 bolt motor. It will fit what you are doing PERFECTLY. If you use a 90-92 6 bolt 14b return line, it will be too short and will leak if you manage to even stretch it on.
