i was curious if the fwd and awd fuel pumps are interchangable, because a friend of mine found a fwd for his awd but doenst want to buy it because he is afraid that i will not interchange.

any info is appreciated.

thanks

Internal tank fuel pumps are all basically the same. The only differences are the size and performance of them. That is why a lot of guys run supra pumps for example. The kit is the only thing that is different between the different cars.

On a side note, if you are ever changing the fuel pump on a 1G for the first time, there is an important detail that the Hayes Manual leaves out. The bracket holding the fuel pump on the inside is bolted to the bottom of the tank from a bolt on the outside. Logic will quickly tell you that removing this bolt drains your tank......rather quickly......especially when you have a full tank.....I found this out the hard way when I had my first Talon. Luckily it was my buddy's back yard that got a gasoline bath, not mine!

 I have no idea what you're talking about, just did mine and didn't have this issue that you had.

All 1G pumps are the same (diff install kits though) and all 2G pumps are the same. There is a difference btw 1G and 2G pumps, the inlet is on opposite sides (good to know when buying used).

 were you talking of the lower fuel line fittings? The only external bolt on the bottom of the tank is the drain plug which is 22 or 24mm.
