race gas + higher boost = ????

question here
im currently runnin 110-112 octane mix on my 90 tsi.
i was running a buddy of mine tonight in his 94 tsi {top end runs}
i was running 17-18 psi.
question being this
is this boost level still in the safe area for this type of fuel mix?

mods are this
hacked mass {removed lower honey comb and lowered screw}
rewired pump
k&n filter
HKS evc ez
extreme upper IC pipe.

this is basic curiosity more then anything else

just wanting to know if im still safe at this boost level.

You are asking a dangerous question... no one on here can tell you for a fact that 100% you will be fine.

You need hard data, not what some of us have heard others have ran ... every car is different with different set ups and in different locations.

I wouldn't trust turning up the boost on my car without hard facts/data.

Besides, as you have probably read, most people agree that the datalogger was the best mod purchased for our cars.

I can get away with 19psi on 93octane....and when I can get my hands on some 116/119octane, I usually raise it up to 24-26psi....What kind of turbo/fuel setup are you running?

You push a 14B to 30 PSI? I really find it hard to believe it will blow that hard. And 460HP with or without your 75 shot?

Not trying to pick on you, but if you blow your motor, are the "local guys" going to pay for a new one????

My point being that if you want to run "extreme" boost, then you need to either:

1) Get on a dyno and safely tune air/fuel for your mods

2) Get a datalogger that will help you determine safe/danger levels

Bottom line. You need hard facts on what YOUR car is doing, not what some "local" guys or some "internet" guys think you car "may" be doing.

I am just trying to help you save yourself from making a mistake and blowing a motor.
