AFC settings for stock turbo and injectors?

for stock turbo and injectors, 0 across the board.
you can make small adjustments anywhere you feel you need fuel, but with stock injectors there really isnt much tuning to be done. you might be able to squeeze a few extra horses with a map rangins from 0 to 5+, but untill you get some bigger injectors your afc isnt really going to help you any

I don't think there's any question: If you use that tech article, your tuning will be golden. It pretty much spells it out for you. That guy knows his sh!t, period.

Love the article jake.. However, I have a 16g on 450's and I am running 14psi and on the dyno with a wide band I was pig rich above 4000rpm's ( I mean off the chart rich) He actually leaned me out -9 from 4000 up and I gained 30 whp and my A/F ratio was still at 12...I'm kinda confused.

Please help!

Thank you very much, sir.

Larry - I'm not sure why you're confused. When you are that rich you're definately losing power, ESPECIALLY if you're using a SAFC or other airflow modifying device to tune. Leaning the car out gives you a more powerful A/F ratio, and more timing advance.

Yes I understand that but shouldn't I be lean with a 16g not fat?I guess wide bands don't lie...So I am still running the -9 across the board ...She pulls hard as hell.

Why would you be lean with a 16G? The way the ECU works is pretty simple. Basically, it reads airflow from the MAF, and calculates the amount of fuel to deliver to get the target AF ratio. With a 16G, you flow more air, so you get more fuel. Pretty simple, huh? To make it a little more complex, the more air you flow at a given RPM, the ECU will choose a richer target AF ratio. So you are even more likely to be rich, at least until you max out the injectors, or start outflowing the fuel pump.

If you aren't maxing out the injectors or outflowing the pump, its not a surprise you are pig rich and need to lean it out. The 2G ECU runs very rich from the factory. If you think you were too rich, then it wouldn't hurt to check for boost leaks.

i just installed a 2g maf, dejontool 3" intake and DSR 550 injectors. I'm guessing to start tunning with my afc i can also follow the tech article Kyle posted above. By just intstalling these parts i could fell a difference over the stock pieces, but i'm sure i can lean it out more for more power. With my 14b turbo, ported o2housing and 2.5" back, my boost was creeping from 16-19psi, at 5300rpm the boost would creep and the logger would show knock once it crept knock would go past 20ish. Now first couple pulls with the 550's, no knock at 19psi. I'm going to follow the tech article and hopefully it will put my afc settings in the - area so i won't have to worry about fuel cut much. I will start by following the tech article and i'll see where that leaves my trims and afc settings. Any advice is appriciated. THanks

Kyle T, what was your boost when you ran a 12.8?nice mph too!
