Quick question, how much knock is normal while driving around? I've been fighting phantom knock for about a year - finally replaced lifters, O2 sensor, MCCC, cleaned IC, switched oils and filters, fixed exhaust rattles and the motor mounts seem fine.

Almost all my knock was solved - say 99%. But I still get 43 count spikes occasionally - which I didn't think should happen. I get low throttle tip in knock occasionally that fall in the 7 count range which I don't worry too much about...

Anyrate is that type of knock normal? It's almost always before the boost kicks in and after being warmed up sharp bumps in the road always make large spikes.

It says you replaced the o2 sensor above. Did you replace teh knock sensor? Is it screwed in with the right torque amount?

Yep, new knock sensor correctly torqued. All of this stuff is fairly recent so it shouldn't be going out.. . by the way the new lifters are the 3rd revision ones and eliminated all of my lifter tick.

By the way, as far as I can tell the only things I've got left to really check are things like wheel bearings and shocks, and maybe replace what looks like good motor mounts..... Anyone else have some input?

Hmmm. I had phantom knock before but all I had to do is put some seafoam in my gas to fix the problem. Do you have a datalogger? Try reving before WOT and see if you still get all of the kock. I would be fine with 7 counts of knock myself but I would still want to get rid of it like you.

Oh and I've tried a new fuel filter and running injector cleaners and I just put in a bigger fuel pump....

The PK won't happen reliably at all so it's difficult to diagnose anymore. It usually won't happen at all unless the engine has been running moderately hard for a bit. The small stuff I might consider as real knock since I've got a Big 16G on the stock IC but those 43 count spikes still bother me every time I hit a bump.

My front driver's side shock does need replaced eventually, but would that cause PK even when it's not bottoming out?
