hey guys,

Im fairly new to this whole dsm thing. i just bought a 98 eclipse gst with 54k miles on it.

the mods are:
big 16g turbo ported and clipped
apex fmic
rc 550's
walbro 255lph
apex n1 catback
injen filter+ RRE intake pipe
apex n1 downpipe
apex s-afc
ported exhaust mani and o2
extreme upper pipe
extreme MBC
hks timer
AEM crank pulley

the guy i bought it off of was running 19psi and i was wondering if thats safe for the mods i have since i really dont know too much about it.

if you could help me out would be great

thanks alot

as long as 2 conditions are met, you are fine.

1.) everything is working properly, and installed well.

2.) your settings are correctly done. S-afc, base timing etc.

Have you logged any runs?

That would tell you. If you are getting any timing pulled in 3rd gear WOT runs you might need to turn it down a psi or so.

Oh, and

3.) Using the highest octane fuel you can find.

hey,

no i have no logged any runs. im not sure if the s-afc is set up properly like i said i just got the car las weekend and im kind of new to all this and not really sure how to adjust the boost level.

if you can help would be appreciated

thanks
phil

Mine came to me running 18psi. I didnt think I really needed that much for a daily driver so I turned it down to 13.5psi for now.

You should be ok as long as you aren't leaning out too much at the top - which would cause some knock.

if the original posters mods are as listed and all is well, 19psi is fine.

I'd say turn it down to 17 just to be safe, make sure you get it tuned, and drive it like that.

Its not like you have it floored all the time anyway. thats the beauty of these cars. You have the power of a 350, but the fuel economy of a 122 :) Drive it smoothly and keep it around the speed limit and you will get good mileage

hey guys,

thanks for the help.

but one more question, how can i tune it? can i do it myself or to i have to take it to someone to do it??

and what should the settings be for the safc with the mods i have and how do i set the settings ?

thanks
