i readjusted my base timing from 10 degrees back to 5 degrees. before this the car would idle perfect at 1000 rpm. i try to keep it around 1000 because of the webcams.

now the car idles at 500 rpms and no matter how i adjust the screw in the throttle body i can not get the RPMs to change at all.

stock ecu/injectors, no fuel computers, mas only has removed normal honeycombs, no hacking.

thanks for any help.

Base timing in a 2g is still 5, the ECU advances it to 8 or so.

I can say that without fuel control idle will be very lean with lower HC removed and screw backed out flush. Some where on the order of 30%, while the ECU can only adjust about half of that out. Try unhacking the MAS (I did, much happier) and see if it gets better.

It makes tuning easier, and the car is happier in general. Also, I asked myself why not do it. Above 3k rpm, Imade no change to my afc settings, which meant that it had no usable effect on airflow at high rpm. The curve was something like 30% at 1k, 20% at 2k, and 3 or 4 % at 4k, 0 the rest of the way. On high throtte settings there was no change. Go figure. Unless you really hack it out, or its a 1g, its not even worth looking at the MAS.
