think its possible? my stock downpipe is 1045 miles away in FL. with the old alcohol in the tank trick and tuning my translator to extra lean, think i'll pass? I bet Mike has some ideas on how to set it up to pass emissions

Is e/check emissions check? If so, then no I don't think it's possible.

First, at the very least, during the inspection they do a visual inspection to make sure you have a cat (aka get on their knees and look at the exhaust piping). If you have a straight pipe, you will fail this.

Second, if you have to do any kind of sniffer or testing of the exhaust gases, then I think you'll also fail; and leaning out the car with the translator should not help in my opinion...why... Because at low throttle, the ecu is still in control of the fuel. After combustion, it checks the o2 sensor voltage to see how close to ideal air/fuel radio it got. If it's off a little, it corrects this with fuel trims. When you decide to lean it out to pass emissions, the ecu will see that it's not hitting ideal air/fuel radios via the o2 sensor, and it will raise fuel trims to add more fuel to get it back to the normal level.

My advice, some how get a cat back on there to pass inspection.
