i put in my 550's the other day and set the base dial to 4 which the manual suggests for these injectors and im getting a really rough idle, and lean condition at mid and low throttle. wot is fine and pulls good. the mid and idle set to 8 which is full rich it ran really rough if i put them on 0 then the car idles even rougher and very lean. i was wondering if anyone has any settings they could share with me that they run with their 550 setup. because this low end driveability and crappy idle is driving me crazy. the car ran bad ass and smoother than ever with stock injectors. im gonna try resetting my ecu and zeroing everything out. i hear i can take up to 250 miles for ecu to learn the setting correctly. or maybe i have some faulty injectors. i just need some numbers that worked for other people to start out with and go from there if yall have any available. thanx in advance.

I will be running a MAFT on my 1G with a killer 16G and upgraded intake and IC piping, Walbro 255, A/f EGT and datalogger to help tune the thing

I will be popping in 660s after I get my car running with the MAFT on the stock injectors.

What settings worked well with your car on the stock injetors?

Hopefully more people will share their experience with the MAFT and tunning on the message board.

i just had all 4 knobs set to zero all the way across the board and it ran bad ass, i have a stock turbo, exhaust, fuel pump, fpr, and clutch and i was running right next to my friend with a 16g and fmic. im really impressed with this translator. i put the 550s in because i was maxing out the stock ones and they were locking up, i was confusing it with fuel cut, but when i put the 550s in it could pull hard at 20psi all the way to red line. but im haveing trouble getting driveability on the low end and idle the idle smooth. im thinkin about going back to the 450s for now, since car ran smooth as glass with them on. till i get things figured out, im thinkinb maybe the 550 injectors are faulty somehow and causing me this grief. i let a friend borrow them once and he said he was having tuning probs with them too.

I got my 3" MAFT from Ramchargers all hooked up. Car ran like crap, but through some trouble shooting I figured out that it had to be either my wires or pluggs so I replaced both and bam, runnin smooth as hell with base and all at 0.

I have a IHI ballbearing 16G killer turbo 2.5" upper IC piping stock lower IC piping, stock intake with the MAFT suckin air througha HKS Powerflow filter pod. stock 450cc, walbro 255 not rewired yet, stock fpr, 2.5”dp to 3” before the flex pipe and 3” all the way to a shatty muffler

Using a Tunerstein pocketlogger
When revving the car in park and making adjustments to my settings to tune out knock I got a rough idle, I leaned them out a bit and got it smoothed out with little (1-3) to no knock 0-5-3-0. I then took the car out on the road, got the ECU adjusted to the new MAFT and the car ran pretty good. Drove it around more and made some slight adjustments for MID WOT throttle and then started taking slight pulls to 4500-5000 through 1st and 2nd. then I tried it in 3rd , I hit fuel cut at like just under 4500,

my timing advance readout goes almost 40 deg when I'm making these pulls. Does that make any sense??

I set my logger to readout low trim, mid trim, and 02 voltage. My low trim stayed at 136, didn’t move at all, my mid stayed at like 225 or somthin, didn’t move at all either. I check the same for high trim and same thing. Whats up with that?? I didn’t connect that RPM wire to the CAS yet, could that be faulting those readings out?

I was kinda pissed to find out that my tunerstein software does not display injector duty cycle, Cuz I would really like to know what is going on there, but it does have inj pulse width, will that tell me anything for tunning?

All I can say is that Fuel cut hits my car hard as hell when I get on it and hit around 4500 rpm at 16PSI

Oh yeah, I couldn’t get the MAFT to get rid of it with that 3rd switch, that’s supposed to get rid of fuel cut right? Not in my case, but I guess I was maxxing out the injectors pretty bad though with my settings.

My frickin 660s better be hear today so I can go to the drag strip and pulls some times tonight without hitting fuel cut. BOV sounds sweet even with the stock dump. I’m ready for 20PSI on race gas. I have an exhaust leak commin through my EGT tap in my manifold runner 1 though, blasted cast!!! and I think a pinhole commin out around where my 3" cat, which is gutted, is. DAmn I got some work to do before the track tonight.

ya your injectors are maxed out i had the same prob and confused it with fuel cut, i guess when they max out like that they have a tendency to lock up. the switch did not help me either only thing that did was the 550s. but now they run messed up and im thinkin the injectors are bad.

I figured it might of had somthin to do with maxing the injectors out. My 660s aren't goin to be able to be installed into my car untill Monday, no drag strip for me tonight.

does getting really high timing advance sound right to you though?
20 38 when driving?

sounds wack to be, I heard people being happy to get 22 to 25 advance, I got 38, wow I'm gonna throw my stock setup MAF on and see if I get the similar timing advance at lower boost. I haven't ran my logger on the stock MAF and my upgraded turbo yet

peace out

Sup guys,

I got my 660s installed and the MAFT tuned, my settings at 14psi are
Base 6 > idle 1 > mid 0 > WOT 0
I used base 6 b/c I'm still running a stock FPR but my fuel pump has raised my FP to about 40PSI, 3 PSI short of the 43PSI rating of the injectors, a base setting of atleast 7 should be used with FP at 43PSI

Remember this is with IHI ball bearing 16G killer turbo and stock IC>2.5" upper piping and stock lower piping

car idled great, motor felt strong and pulled hard. Knock counts were virtually nonexistant except for when I took a rolling start and reved it up to around 4500, dropped the clutch and burnt all 4s <<cool sh$* knock count of 9 and I think that was b/c my 2nd gear is messed and wouldn't mesh up cuz of the power.
02 voltages ranged b/t .87 to .93 when I could watch them at WOT, haven't replayed the logger yet

Its time to start tunning off of 16>18>20PSI !!
