Stock fuel system flows 1.9lpm?????? Input please.

Ok, maybe I am misunderstanding what I just read in the VFAQ about upgrading the Fuel line......but thats what they claimed. Stevetek Fuel system upgrade. They also claimed that our stock fuel filter is a low flow capacity fuel filter and can flow 2.0lpm at best. I read through all this and it makes since to me. I also say I believe that the first 2 injectors after the input line have the biggest possiblity of running rich and the thrid would probably run about right and the fourth would always stay leaner than the others.

has anyone done this modification, and has some tuning done to back this up? I am just curious if your EGT's smoothed out and how about performance?

Thanks,

GSXTACY

Come on.....nobody has done this!!!!

Well I guess you all have not done this or even taken the time to check it out. It seems really plausable. But I guess no one knows.

I have a fairly modified fuel system (supra pump, 650s , AEM fpr @40psi base) I ran a 12.5@116 on pump gas to give you an idea of the power I am making. I also have a freshly rebuilt engine. I have never ever seen a difference between the plugs and I pull them fairly regularly.

I think it theory what they are saying is true but I don’t think any of that would come into play until you are a much higher level than most of us will ever be. My buddy HiPsi91 has an even bigger fuel system that I do with an external pump and he has never run into those types of issues either and he is running 10s. The old rule of thumb is that if you aren’t making 500hp to the wheels its not really necessary but I have seen people making more power than that do fine with the stock lines and rail. Take that FWIW

actually, i know alot of people who have done it, maybe not out of nessicity, but to be safe. alot of it does make sense, except for the pressure drop from the front to the end of the rail, in my view the whole fuel rail pressure drops the same, since theres no restriction from one injector to the other. and , when i just baked my engine due to lack of fuel, it was the center two pistons, 1 and 4 are fine, go figure
