what CAS should I run?

I'm buttoning everything up finally on my tear down and am shopping for a CAS. I'm just curious if it would be better to run a 1G blacktop with the magnus 1G in a 2G or run the 97-99 CAS?

Did you put a 6 bolt motor in? If so I didn't think there was an option to run a 97-99 cas. So with that said 1G black top for sure.

Reason being there is no crank sensor in a 1g motor. Both signals are pulled from the cas.

It really just depends on if you have a 6-Bolt or 7-Bolt.

If you have a 6-Bolt you need a 1G style CAS (unless you have something like a kiggly crank trigger kit.)

If you have a 7-bolt, the CAS and crank sensor being separate is supposedly superior so stick with that if that's what you have.

I have a 97 7 bolt in a 95 with a 95 ECU. I'm just un-sure of the connector difference in a 97 cas to a 95 cas. I haven't had time to look with the shift I'm on at work

Personally, I would pick up a 95-96 CAS and matching intake cam gear and swap that on.

To run the 97-99 you would need to splice a 97-99 CAS connector to your harness. I'm not sure about how the firing order would be though.

To run the 1G CAS you need the special harness adapter or to hardwire one.

If you run either 2g style CAS you need to make sure you also have a crank sensor in place as well.

You would need to splice in the 97-99 CAS connector and swap the plug wires because the 97-99 CAS runs a non-inverted signal to the 95ecu. If you need a 97-99 CAS pigtail PM me.

I'm not going to run the 95/96 cas simply because its location is horrible and to remove it is quite the pain if the motor is in. Splicing in the 97/99 connector can't be very hard.. But this is also why i was debating a 1g CAS with the magnus 1G in a 2G cable

I've been researching and I'm pretty sure I'm just going to go 1g simply because it's easier with the RRE or Magnus harness and dsmlink being able to correct the inverted signal

My vote would be for a 97-99 CAS/CPS due to the much cleaner signal versus a 1g CAS.

Sorry to post in an OLD thread but, is it a big deal to swap from 2ga CAS to a 2gb CAS? I will be running a haltech standalone and getting an ohm racing harness so wiring is not an issue. Is there a consensus on which sensor setup is best?
